A ha! I knew you would be able to make it! HAdnt heard from ya on the subject so I wasnt sure.
I will be attending the Berkeley one at Codys books @7pm. I dont think we'll be able to make it to the noonish SF one(gonna see the matrix reloaded tho!)
Hopefully some other MC folks will be...
Anybody else find it laughable there is only 2/3 episodes per dvd? C'mon, anyone who knows dvd specs knows they can fit a lot more than that on there, heh. Just look at the complete Simpsons/Futurama season 1 boxsets...aint no spacin out the episodes on like 20 dvds there.
Also unrelated to...
Well, while there is no argument that Muppet Show and Sesame Street are pretty much brothers(or sisters, or whatnots and cousins) I guess there is an advantage to JHC not having to govern over SS now that I think about it. And think about it this way...it shows how large the Muppet universe is...
heh, oh I know. If MF2 happens to be in NY I will *have* to know;)
Anyways, so just me and Boober Gorg from on MC going to the bay area Spinney stop Friday? tho it looks like I definately cant make the noonish SF one, just the Berkeley one now.
(Right now Im halfway through th ebook, great...
Sweet! *does a happy dance for you* My mom is going with me too friday(is everyones mom going? heh)
I will probably be wearing my Matrix-ish Beaker shirt, green overshirt with MC pin, etc. Anyways, post your story here!
Luke, I totally see what you were saying...technically, from a business standpoint they are two seperate companies(sort of...I mean they both share Kermit the frog...and employees and legacy)
I was just referring to that one comment about the "Sesame Street Muppets" copyright thing ya...
Don't worry, I think thats just Luke. As Im halfway through Spinney's book(which rocks!) and virtually every time Sesame is mentioned the words Muppets are not far behind.
c'mon Luke, I doubt hardly anyone on here all the sudden thinks of Sesame characters as some sort of seperate totally unrelated fracnhise property. Sesame Street is just as part of Muppetdom as Fraggle Rock, Muppet Show, Bear int he Big Blue House, etc.
Yeah, ever since EMTV sold off CTW...
I just bought Wisdowm of Big Bird tonight, and cant wait to get through it. It's a really aweosme read fo rany Muppet fan...its like youre right there! heh
Anyways, Matrix and Oscar/Spinney this Friday, whoo! :)
Ack, my good buddy Dr. Tooth going on hiatus? Say it aint so...dude, you *so* need to get a computer. *Or* do what I did last summer: Gateway store computers and the library! ^_^;;
Oh Oscar and Pepe would be too cool interacting. Last weve *Really* seen SS and TMS interacting was 1987's MFC.
Yeah, CTW(SW) was sold off from JHC before MF1...so there is precendent. Honestly, CTW is so ingrained with JHC its no big deal...the JHC not actually owning CTW I believe is just...
No you are right on target Chilly.
It would be aggregious not to have a huge Sesame presence. Me personally, I could give a flying frick about the fact EMTV sold off CTW from JHC completely...to me and a lot of folks Sesame Workshop and Sesame Street will always be JHC forever.
This 'shhh...
Eh, you cant *meet* anyone from Scooby Do;)(or anyone from Disney or Looney Tunes canon;)
Muppetfest: Oh heck yeah I hope it comes this December...no matter where. Im guessing NYC tho. And dear goodness there *better* be a Sesame Street theme, a strong presence there. Spinney, Brill, you...
??? Scooby is straight up 70's, even in its modern reincarnation. There is nothing modern about it...whereas if you look at MFS, Muppetisms, the Mastercard commercial there is nothing 'old' looking about the Muppet brand...in fact the Muppets look quite modern. Thats' the big difference...
