What do you feel about the idea of cgi animated Muppets?
We first saw it with Waldo of course, and now used extensively on Henson projects with digital puppetry. And while I absolutely *love* Muppet Babies and Fraggle Rock animated Im sure we both could agree cgi muppets wouldn't be very good...
Yes, but be it a deviant artist or an established artist; if the talent is there...hey why not? I was asked to be the inker for the Image comics title Death Jr. (based on the Playstation game) simply because an Image rep was impressed with what he saw at my table(I had a table with my art, zines...
Yeah sadly the bone rigging super cheap "flash" look of modern cartoons has become quite ubiquitous on tv; and I long for the days of 80's and 90's cartoons(as much as they may now look a bit dated) I just meant, I was surprised to see these things actually animated than most motion comics.
$17 for the Muppet pook a loos? I just got all of them at the local Disney store for $3.99 each.
And the Muppet mugs are $2 bucks at Disney store, here they are way more PLUS shipping:(
I agree, this is just more of a hub to locate what's already on Amazon. I thought this was a Disney.go network website carrying *EXCLUSIVE* items only found in parks or their store site.
Ooh I can't wait to see it. And thanks! (As much as I'm embarrassed by my older work) This thread actually inspires me to try my hand again at some muppet art/comics. In fact I'd love to see everyone's attempt at Muppet/Henson related art.
Off the street? No no, I meant a due process via online submission. I mean, can you imagine all the potential amazing artists and writers a company misses out on if they ONLY go with established artists? That's certainly not the kind of company I'd run, though I've always been more of a...
Usually "motion comics" seem rather lackluster(ie: DC's efforts on dvd) and not very animated.
But correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the new Muppet Motion Comics seem closer to actual animated cartoons than merely being on a "Reading Rainbow" level of book "animation"?
Check out the...
Ok, just saw the trailer...wasn't as bad as I thought. At least it didn't star talking animals. I usually hate cgi cartoon movies, but there was some things here I thought were clever.
It's funny this is essentially being released by Disney on the Touchstone imprint.
Hey now...it wouldn't be Muppet Central unless Dr Tooth erupted into a massive verbose wall of rants regarding modern children's entertainment :coy: Hehe, I kid! Dr Tooth, I love ya.
We all have our little pet things we do. While Frogboy, Luke and Warrick are the reserved elder statesmen...
I love how Toys R Us now carries every single Boom Kids issue.
Definitely loving the Halloween arc issue. I keep thinking, "where has Langridge been all these years"; as I am just thoroughly amused and delighted my his very distinct artwork and nuances. I know some may take issue with his...
Oh bro, I was seeing some astonishingly work flow from you both design and idea wise..what, a decade ago? Before I ever even messed around with photoshop. I actually am excited at the idea of what you could come up with now days in the realm of slick, modern stylish designs. Heck I feel inspired...
I was going to send Boom Kids some examples of my best work, which I feel would lend itself naturally to a Muppet title or work...yet I went to email them and it said "WE DO NOT TAKE ANY SUBMISSIONS!"

Is this normal? I can imagine there's a LOT of...
Is that why, except for Rizzo, the posers don't truly look like the real posers used in magazines/calendars/promo shots nor the puppets themselves? Im a big supporter of anything Muppets and especially of the companies putting out stuff...but I just cannot help but notice the posers to me do not...
I still have my Beaker and Electric Mayhem shirt from 2003 at Hot Topic:) Beaker and Chef are cult faves, but still do not have much stuff with them on it.
Wait, Hasbro is taking over Fisher Price? SWEET. Man I'd to finally see some REAL, non infant toys and merchandise.
I like how Target...
After awhile, don't kids just go "these cgi films really stink"
Man, how I yearn for the days of practical effects, puppetry, matte paintings and animatronics!
Really, as I remember being bored to tears during the first Cars in theaters(I snuck in to see it and still wanted my money back) Good animation, guess it wasn't my thing. I can't give enough praise about Up or Rattatooie tho, and can't wait to see Toy Story 3.
Oddly enough, as much as I love...
If they canceled Newt over Rango, so be it...Rango looks nothing short of visionary from the trailers I've seen. While I don't like most non Pixar cgi faire, now and then ones come out that blow me away(like MvA, Robots, etc)
Still, I rather see Newt than Cars 2...I absolutely loathe NASCAR...
I just thought the Muppets, and my goodness especially Sesame Street, were about teaching peace.

I mean, geez...Elmo's dad and Rosita's dad go out and kill people for the government...is this official Sesame canon? Poor Rosita's dad even...
