Yeah a lot of films intentionally opt out of the summer shuffle for December(like Avatar) The film sounds like it has all the ingredients for a summer release, but summer is so aggressive and take no prisoners...and then films a lot of times relegated to August often do not fair very well(like...
Anyone else perplexed by the Christmas release date? While it's when oscar baiting weepers come out, it's also a bit of an anomaly...as even though holiday themed family films come out in late November and early December, there's still a holiday connotation with the Dec 25th release date...
Thanks. Yeah I just have so many people on or offline when I mention a new viral youtube video or the upcoming film say "oh, the Muppets are back/still around?" People by and large have the notion that 1) the Muppets died off with the passing of Jim Henson. Maybe creatively for a time as could...
Thanks! Sometimes with any figure I collect I want to change the paint scheme. The only full 100% custom in my pictures is the Droop I made a few years ago out of sculpey. Ive thought about creating more professional customs using existing parts. Some I have made into jointed figures.
Funny...
Oh thanks. The Cookie Monster was picked up in a retro/vintage/vinyl toy shop. It has a 1980 copyright on the bottom, Im guessing it was from some sort of Ultraman/Kaiju type manufacturer as it reminds me of the Ultraman villain vinyl toys.
Im really hoping Disney releases Jack in the Box...
I want a shirt that says "Where's dey Muffins Kermen?"
ha! ya crack me up. Yeah in the AICN talk back section, they go on and on with spoof names for announced sequels/reboots/remakes, which are pretty funny usually.
Some alternate titles:
"The Muppets Are Still Around(Despite What...
Wow...yeah just read the article. Was surprised how far along this project was, though I can imagine they'll want to milk(pun intended) the R thing for all its worth. I hope they don't use a Gladys look alike for that scene!
Im just wondering if this is going to be a straight to dvd/VOD sort...
Thanks for posting! I wish they'd post the full episodes and promos they shot, I really love the Del Castle character. Did you see the five episodes of "Del's Vegas Comedy Tour" on TBS.com? I think the episodes are still online

Ive been loving seeing everyone's figure collections on here for the past few years...though I have noticed they are mostly all Palisades related.
For 12 years on here, people have known me to blather on about
my love of smaller scale Muppet figures, and the overall 3 3/4 to 4" scale of 80's...
I dont know if you ever looked at the old 1998 archives on the Delphi forum, but I recall intensive debates on here(err, the old forum) in 98 and 99' regarding the whole muppets from space versus Muppets IN space thing. I think it was around november or december of 1998 when some people...
Ha, now we have an official working title: "Muppetts" ^__^
Seriously, it's one thing to hear Segal glow about the film, to read an article in EW...its entirely ANOTHER thing to see a snapshot of a physical legal shooting permit notice in Los Angeles.
For those that say "I'll believe it...
The idea of a comic book/geek type convention in a Muppet movie seems so fitting...however, I'm not sure we ever saw references to the Muppets as we know them, so references to Pigs In Space in a Muppet movie before now wouldn't have been used.
And see, this to me has to be the most exciting...
I liked your MFS pros and cons, but for me the numero uno problem of the film is the unevenness. I loved the funk opening with brick house, totally fit. But some original songs interlaced throughout would have been better. But the wildly uneven and empty feeling would be my cons with it...
Yeah Pepe really makes MFS, and is one of the things that still stand out in my mind. It's really his first solo outing we see and break up role post MT. To me MFS is a magical film until about 20-25 minutes in. To me it made no sense to open with this fun zany muppet sing a long set of chaos...
Do you know of anyone or anywhere any of the FTB episodes are? I cant find any. Back before they took down the archive, I had no idea of how to capture FLV or streaming videos like I do now. I made sure to grab all the muppets.com sketches, but there was a lot of FTB I really wish I had. Sadly...
Well let's look at all the Muppet films that have come out:
Muppet Movie
Great Muppet Caper
The Muppets Take Manhattan
Muppet Christmas Carol
Muppet Treasure Island
Muppets From Space
A Very Muppet Christmas Movie
Kermit Swamp Years
Muppet Wizard of Oz
Letters To...
Oh if the movie brings in all the Segal/Apatow type crowds, that'd be very very cool. The fact it has the hipness going for it makes it light years ahead of what MFS had going for it
Oh man, I've been asking that SAME question on here since 1998:)
Its a very valid point. Whenever I wear...
Ooh good point. I thought maybe Gonzo references/knows about Elmo and Sesame and not Fraggle Rock because of legal issues(Sesame is officially considered "Muppets"(tm) still, while sadly they stripped Fraggle Rock of that designation after the Disney buyout)
But you're right, nowhere is Gonzo...
Oh none of us have any doubt that the Muppets are not only in good hands, but the specific people running the Muppets umbrella under Disney are huge fans. And youre so lucky! I just saw some pix and youtube posts. I will definitely be at the August 2011 D23! I say we need to organize a big fan...
