    Any recommendations for visiting NYC?

There's The Metropolitan Museum of Art where Don't Eat the Pictures took place. Lots of recognizable items, hehe. And The Natural History Museum where the dinosaurs and planetarium are. If you're going to Brooklyn you have to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, it's an incredible view. :) You...

    America Dumbs Down

In Hollywood that would never be a "just happens to be." ;) But I do agree that people see what they want to see. Again, agree to disagree as to what exactly is correct. ;)

    How can someone hate Elmo?

I just don't think I would have liked Elmo's World as a child. I remember what I liked as a kid and I remember why. And Elmo's World is not particularly witty or challenging, doesn't pull an real emotional strings and even as a kid that's what I enjoyed. I would have liked Sesame Street though...

Anyone worried about the next generation?

Well my parents don't quite have the same memories. Though they watched Leave it to Beaver...nice fantasy. ;) And if you were a child of course you'll occasionally remember it as much better than it actually was. I think the '80s were a wonderful time but that's because I was too young to know...

    America Dumbs Down

Like I said I don't like using the word political. And it's not even that big a deal in the movie, it's more a minor social comment. But to say oil being the bad guy is simply an innocent coincidence is just a fallacy. This is Hollywood, they are not clamoring to make a pro-oil film any time...

    America Dumbs Down

Well the thing the Muppets were indeed making oil the bad guy in the film (and more power to them). I don't want to say that's "political" but it is indeed socially relevant. So Fox didn't "turn" the movie "political", they just didn't like what the movie was saying (or at least that one...

    Future Dr. Seuss Films

They were able to make a film I nearly walked out on, lol. I wouldn't object to them making Seuss into movies except that they consistently have no idea what they're doing. Those cartoons from the '60s and '70s were ten times more creative and thoughtful, didn't mess with the material or...

    How can someone hate Elmo?

There is simply no comparison between the thoughtfulness and insight that went into Old School Sesame Street, and the pandering, marketing ploy called Elmo's World. I watched the show after he was introduced too, but it was before Elmo's World, and back when Elmo was a part of a rich...

What sketches scared you as a kid?

Yeah I feel really bad about it now because I think if I could have gotten over my initial reaction Snoopy and I could have had a lot of fun, lol. Though in any case it would have been short lived; shortly after getting the toy my friend pushed it down the slide, it never played again. I...

What sketches scared you as a kid?

Yeah I had the same problem with a talking Snoopy doll, lol. It was one of those Teddy Ruxpin type things where you put the cassette tape in the back and the doll told you a story. And it always freaked me, lol.

    My own personal open rant

Wow...someone never left middle school. :concern: Of course that's not specifically a forum issue, I encountered the same kind of people in school back in the day. And frankly I'd rather be unpopular than that weak of a person. Because those people have to live with the way they acted for the...

    My own personal open rant

Yeah I remember running into a forum once that pretty much existed just to give people a hard time, very bravely behind their computer screens of course, heh. As one of them proudly put it, "You've entered the lion's den!" Um, yeah more like the pathetic den, lol. :p

Exactly and that is a slight problem with trying to do education on Television. Education can't always be fun and exactly what kids want to hear. That's not good for them.
