My parents didn't get too obsessed with that stuff. For the most part if I liked something then it was a "me" thing, not a "boy or girl" thing. There were some exceptions but no one said parent/child relations was easy, lol.
I did go through a phase in High School of not wanting to wear skirts...
Except when Lucas or Bay are in charge of a film apparently. But since those characters are no sane person's favorites perhaps we are getting better, lol.
I think the Brady Bunch movies both did an excellent job with their satire of a retro show and how society relates to it now. Ironically the first film also ended up being quite the time capsule for '90s culture as well, lol.
Scooby Doo had its moments but couldn't find the right balance...
I really go through extremes; sometimes I have no hope when I look around at people. Other times I'm touched by all the wonderful qualities we possess in spite of ourselves.
"It Hits the Fan" is definitely one of my favorites as well. Also the one where all the boys get put on Ritalin. Plus all of the Christmas episodes, especially the Canadian one and the Woodland Critter Christmas, lol.
