Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
There are threads in the general discussion area here that proselytize the Christian religion in one way or another so it becomes a slippery slope of what is cherry-picked as acceptable. Would a member’s post of their first Ramadan experience be acceptable? If not, then why is Islam singled...
I thought that implied by Amy or someone in the thread? The Muppet Babies characters used to require a different license purchase under Henson ownership, but I'm not sure how that's all handled these days under Disney.
These are indeed cool. It seems that Disney is still learning about the characters and they are willing to learn, so this mishap doesn't concern me much. Even fans keep misspelling Fozzie as Fozy and that's a main guy!
The misspelling of Beaker in general is strange to me because it's...
Just my take on things...
The eventual break down of tolerance and mutual respect for opinion is the reason for the absence of controversial topics on Muppet Central. We've tried and I hope that we can improve those lines of communication, but right now topics are much more tightly controlled...
It was a big set, not all of it could be seen on screen and there was a payphone, but this doesn't seem legit to me. If it is, it's still not iconic enough to put up for sale.
I don't think that much of the control panel could really be seen on the original TMS program. These *could* be sections of it, but I couldn't tell you. I do know that much of the Palisades playset was invented and lots of blanks were filled in, but I would imagine the set to resemble it more...
Upon inspecting the rest of the site it seems that the Muppets aren't the only license that has slowed development. The only products they have in their store are:
Star Wars- AHSOKA TANO LIGHTSABER $349
Star Trek- MARK IX SCIENCE TRICORDER HOLSTER $20
Disney- CAPTAIN NEMO'S NAUTILUS $1799...
I'm certain that Rizzo could sell a couple hundred units at a high (but not astronomical) price, but I don't think that would be enough justification for the bean-counters to endorse production. Maybe Disney really is stalling. The next Muppet film could be out as early as 12 months from now so...
My confidence in them has been spotty from the beginning, but will give the folk at EFX the benefit of the doubt that this delay really is due to a materials issue. The difference between a high-end plush and a legitimate replica is in the materials used just as much as the patterns and...
I understand that, but even small companies send some sort of response. It's weird and that's what leads me to wonder if something's up over there.
Still no reply from my second inquiry and I just sent a third. I have little less faith in the legitimacy of this company for not even emailing back a nonsense courtesy response. I'm really trying to stay positive. EFX is a very new company with an inconsistent reputation thus far. Small...
:p Every Muppet duo has playful undertones to their shtick. Ernie and Bert are a good example of this. How that is interpreted depends upon the viewer. I see them as a couple; others see them as merely best friends. The only problem I ever have with this topic is when a person is offended by...
Widescreen's the future so eventually it will happen. No petition is needed. The old standard 4:3 ratio is unnatural and cuts off the viewer's peripheral vision. We see in a wider scope and televisions are being made larger and wider to accommodate this. I don’t want my classic television sliced...
It's been 4 months since the last newsletter came out the first week of December. This is the time to watch and see what happens. If another couple months go by, then poke a fork in it...it's done. I have some faith left, but EFX really seems like some fan's hobby site with a fancy logo at this...
Personally, I don’t much care for Deviant Art. It takes very little money or time to secure a .com name, find a host for it and set it up. It looks so much more professional, but of course you don't have the database features of DA. Then again, you don't have all the virus problems and slooooow...
Aw, thanks. There are over 40 banners including the holiday ones. Around the 18th to the 24th of April we will be celebrating Puppetry Day with a special banner. It's a fantasy based menu and one of my faves. :scary:
I still wish we had more updates. It's funny that everyone preached doom for...
