Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
They seem to be following the fan fave pattern of Statler & Waldorf, Swedish Chef, Animal and now Beaker. Hmmm. I wonder who is slated for 2012? Scooter, Rowlf, Sam?
Let's not forget that MR's Kermit is not a 100% replica by strict standards. Terry's original was, but what was manufactured is smaller and caused the eye placement ratio to be different. The collar material is also different than the actual Kermit. MR's Kermit is somewhere between a high-end...
Like I said in the post, it’s probably Karen’s puppet because she’s reportedly going to be performing Red at Comic Con.
I believe that trying too hard to make Gonzo an authentic poser is what kept him from being one and that could plague Rizzo too or prevent him from getting made at all...
It's probably the new Red puppet that Karen Prell has been performing at appearances and is slated to perform at Comic Con.
All other Fraggle puppets have reportedly been in a terrible state for decades due to lack of use or refurbishment. The state of Henson's Fraggle posers is another...
Think Different
These are the MR issues revisited: Stellar prototypes that can't be replicated in the normal factory process. Plus, we have Disney's firmer grip on quality control this go-round. It looks like everybody needs to rethink things in order to get these done. Willing it to be so and...
I think Jim Henson is the perfect example of how one person can make a huge difference. He had the magic touch that seems to have been missing with JHC since his death. It wasn't easy for him to get the Muppet Show on the air and he struggled quite a bit, but he persevered and inspired others...
The nods to classic cinema in Caper and the sublte, quiet moments in Crystal cited in that post pointed to that being the case in *that* particular instance. I never said it was *all* instances. sigh...
Wow, the total flipside of my opinion. Must be an age or generational thing, but I commend your bravery here. A tip of the crushed bowler cap to you! :o
I think kids are programmed by advertising to discard anything old and go after the new shiny-surfaced items. That can and should be counteracted in the home. As always, I blame absentee parents...or just the ones with bad taste.
Some companies have had their films digitally cleaned too much for the sake of Blu-ray, but the Dark Crystal and Labyrinth are not among those. They appear as they did in the theaters. :)
 Happy Birthday Dave! :concern:
Gonzo has always been my favorite character and I've relied on this classic Muppet Show song as an anthem of self acceptance throughout my childhood and even today. Thanks for all the crazy Muppeting antics and heartfelt moments you've given the...
You're spot-on right. The official reference cites the top of Pepe's head (or where his eyes are) comes right to Kermit's collar or Gonzo's neck when viewed from head-to-toe. :shifty:
However, I think Pepe and Rizzo would end up being about the same price point. He has more arms, but less...
Very true. I also believe that networks are just as responsible - especially ABC's cancelation fo Muppets Tonight. Zim was a great show that wasn't targeted correctly. Nick, Fox or somebody should create a 24 hour network like what Adult Swim was supposed to be. Too many clever things are...
Who doesn't read a petition before signing it? Wow, and it's considered trolling to call someone on starting a thread in support of a statement that includes a terribly bigoted slur and then avoid responsibility while promoting yourself in other threads. What a way to make friends...
I understand that this petition was inpired by a kid, but still no apology from Gerbert for thoughtlessly posting a link such language here, but he promotes himself as a religious educator in YouTube clips on other threads. This petition also points to others attempting to shut down Spongebob...
It's dated Monday, so it seems that they've either heard our outcry or are more organized right now. Either way, this builds my confidence in EFX.
Seeing that the old Igel version of Rizzo was really spectacular, I'm wondering why this poser (even though it's far different than a mere plush)...
I'm having trouble thinking that Rizzo's stalled release is merely a materials issue. Even a limited edition product needs a wide selection of retailers interested to carry it and the made-to-order business model still requires a substantial number of committed units. I'm not sure Rizzo inspires...
