Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Im just sick of the "main 5" concept of Kermit/Piggy/Gonzo/Animal/Fozzie, hence why its exciting to see Beaker, Pepe and Rizzo. I LOVED the Jack and the Box action figures. Swedish Chef, Pepe...so very cool.
But people forget that there is really no merchandise Muppet wise out now compared to...
Here's a question Ive posed: Why cant they make a, say new york set rom-com, or an indie film that just happens to have a Muppet in it as a side character or co-star?
The range of emotional some of these characters imbue, I could honestly see it played straight.
There's only been two non Muppet...
Yeah balance is good. There's been periods of my life(late 80's, late 90's, mid 2000's) where some periods I practically ate/slept/drank Muppets. Some of my family is like that(Where Jim Henson is almost a Christlike religious figure) but I have so many other passions the Muppets have taken a...
Oh no no no...that is the point of the new film. To introduce young and old to Jim Henson's stuff, and to revitalize long time fans. Hearing people just NOW getting into them and discovering them is wonderful(and the point!)
Tips for you:
Everything you ever wanted to know about anything...
Hey, Ive been on here for over 13 years and will gladly accept your criticism of the film. Im just curious what particular aspect irked you the wrong way. A big one for me was the overall mismatched tone/truncated feel of it. Not to mention the fact some of it even felt sloppy, like how Gonzo...
Oh goodness...as much as I am sick of the mamby pamby liberal big nanny "happy meals are bad" mindset, KFC just seems so insanely unhealthy. Parent company Yum! should be changed to Yuck! I mean who the heck takes their family to eat nasty fried chicken, it looks like an artery clogger with just...
By the late 1990's I started to feel that way. If you look at every single Muppet merchandise since the late 80's, statistically Animal is always number two in terms of what you can expect to see.
Which is funny, as Animal isn't even a main character historically...at least not near where Rowlf...
Stop watching tv:) I literally have not watched tv(save for maybe a simpsons episode or two) in the last ten years. After 9/11 and the buildup to Iraq and all that propaganda, I made a decision to never again have reception or pay for cable. Virtually every show I get recommended or even funny...
Oh there will always be side scrollers. A lot of new ones came out on the ds. I am a fan of most newer 2d games, as long as it has that SNES like magic to it.
I got to meet and hang with the creator and voices behind Zim recently.
Also as far as video games, Im mostly into 2d or 2.5d...not too big on 3d games
Every comic shop in America gave out free Fraggle Rock comics in may of 2010 if I recall correctly
I still contend it was a mistake to air Fraggle Rock on a pay cable channel. Very few Americans in 1982-1986 had cable, let alone premium channels like HBO. If anything they should have broadcast...
It could be in this economy, a lot of families are waiting for the home release.
It's already january, when will they announce what extras are on the home release?
That is so random!
It's truly sad how fast food toys from fast food has devolved into "educational" activity books and cardboard "toys". Geez. For the longest time, some of the best toys available came in a kids meal. American society has TRULY gutted EVERYTHING I loved growing up: 2d...
Oh absolutely. Yeah Fraggle Rock(man I wish that could have been seen on public tv by more people) is such an incredible multi dimensional show with a lot of great messages(and music!) I always cry from watching the final episode.
My mom always mentioned how it was the Muppets in her experience...
