Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Any fan knows that the Muppets have always been a collaborative effort. Jim was the head frog, but the Muppets did not die with him. They've just been lost for a little while.
What a pessimistic jerky statement a few posts back! I follow the movies, properties and box office trends too, but...
I'm glad to see some new publicity shots and the Muppets making their way onto popular products, but I'll pass. It would be nice if some of these actually contained the official PMS color assignations like this crude and quick attempt. Kermit green fingertips would be kinda cool. A glittery...

This anti-gay bullying ad from Ireland is really sweet. Standing up for your gay friends doesn't mean telling them what you believe about their lives on the subject. It just means standing up.
Also, the viciously anti-gay Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich was just confronted...
Get This Comic!
Okay, I finally cracked the free one-shot Dark Crystal comic from Archaia today and let me tell you - It's fantastic! I was never a fan of the Tokyo Pop Manga, but tried to give it a chance. This new offering exposes the multitude of errors from the Beetle-produced manga...
Agreed! Anyone who thinks that Pepe won't be in the new "Muppets" movie has obviously not been following along. It seems that Segel has taken on a more expansive view of the Muppets since embarking on this project. He's embraced a little bit of technology for the wide shots and broadened his...
Exactly. Television is going through an identity crisis right now. Any boycott right now will be just as useful as grounding a teenager for acting out. We'll all just kind of have to weather through it until maturity sets-in. If you want to boycott, then don't watch daytime television...
A Disney Boycott? Really?
ABC/Disney is equally guilty as all the other entertainment companies. No more and no less. I feel for soap fans, but a boycott is useless and won't save that dying genre. At least, not in its present format. This was a business decision. Not a personal one. Mark my...
Exactly what I think. They're being tasteful, rather than presumptuous. It's a gradual stride of coming "closer" rather than bolting right out of the gate like other properties have done. They're giving us a quiet wink and a wave here. More is to come. :)
This isn't CG, but maybe the digital clean-up is a little too smooth.
It irks me that Apple takes the credit for any graphic design that features a colorful product against a white background. That's just basic design 101. However, Apple takes credit for a lot of things. It's how they stick...
What's with the wiggin' out?
I'm still a little freaked out by how many people are freaked out about full-bodied Muppets. It's nothing new. I guess this clean-cut white backdrop makes the designs look more clinical, but these are accurate representations we've seen many times before.
Off...
Hmmm. The Remembering Jim menu is up. It must have been after midnight where you are. That wasn't mentioned and that's definitely the source of the problem. You're not crazy. It doesn't work here either.
I think something was remedied by Phillip on the server side of things years ago, but MC...
The old flash coding from years back does that, but it shouldn't be doing it now. I'd clear the cache and refresh the page. Otherwise it might be a problem happening internationally. I don't know what it could be. Nothing's changed from the Flash source files for years.
:search: Actually, this is a teaser poster and those aren't often sold at retail. Plus - this is double-sided. The exact image printed backwards on the reverse side to make the colors pop when the marquee light shines through it. This isn't important to some fans, but collectors love these! Once...
3D is something that they would outright say on the poster and not hid in an ambigious logline. I suppose they could make a 3D version, but I don't think they will because it wasn't shot in 3D, conversion is needlessly expensive and there's already a MuppetVision 3D in Disney themeparks. Even if...
A technical discussion! Cool!
(Please don't think that this means I don't love the poster. I do, but I also dig picking apart the construction of things. So please, no flames people. Thanks!)
Kermit's the only one that really concerns me on the poster. He's kind of stiff, flat-headed and they...
I have bought the incorrect ticket and swapped theaters at the last minute. Sometimes intentional, sometimes changing my mind. I movie hopped a bit as a kid too. But I'm one who has always actively supported the movies and so I don't think it's a big deal. I was a kid and even though that was...
I agree with much of this.
While I prefer a Drew Struzan painted poster (we never know, that could still be possible) this kind of photo-realistic glossy poster is what the main moviegoing market responds to these days. On the other hand it does make so many silly people think that this...
