Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Oh dear, did I just stumble upon a TMNT conversation? I loved TMNT as a kid, almost as much as I loved Muppets, and I still play the video games all the time. Don's the best. Anyway, I liked the 2003 series better b/c I felt it was a better adaptation of the original comic book. Heck, some...
I can think of four off the top of my head- Pigs (Cloris Leachman), a bully radio station DJ (Johnny Cash), Pirates (Glenda Jackson), and Statller and Waldorf (Hal Linden), although in this last instance Kermit gave them control of the studio willingly.
Yeah, Enterprise seems to be almost universally hated except for a small group of Trekkies, and I think that's partly why they're afraid to do a new Trek show. And it seems like there's no end to how badly Lucas can ruin the ST franchise. Apparently they're bringing Darth Maul back in the Clone...
I agree with this. And no offense Beaker, but I think your definition of a "true" Muppet fan is wholly incorrect. For one, some Muppet fans, such as myself, cannot afford to buy every bit of Muppet merchandise, especially considering how expensive it can be. The Palisades toys have shot up in...
If Sam drew my name, he'd give me an autographed copy of his self-published book "How The Muppet Show Is Ruining America."
If Link Hogthrob drew my name, he'd give me a life-sized statue of his likeness.
If I drew Scooter's name, I'd give him a new jacket. It'd be the same as his old jacket...
Muppets Go To the Movies, a special from the early 80's with Dudley Moore and Lilly Tomlin? One scene features a Wizard of Oz number with Piggy as Dorothy, Scooter as Scarecrow (yeah!!!), Gonzo as the Tin Man, and Fozzy as the Cowardly Lion.
I know some of us have fond memories of Muppet Babies (including me, even though it was a little before my time to be on television) but I can't help but think that show ruined his reputation. Using nothing but the glasses to go on, they changed his character from a slightly dorky/ over...
I thought the episodes where the show was "highjacked" were really fun. These episodes seem to be more in the fourth and fifth seasons, and often involve somebody taking control of the show from Kermit. I loved the episode where guest Glenda Jackson turns out to be a pirate, and she and her band...
The Linda Carter episode- Great musical numbers, and I loved the sub-plot of the Muppets taking a superhero correspondence course, being a huge comic book fan. My fav number was definitely "Orange Colored Sky," but I also loved the cover of "Have a Little Help From My Friends," sung by Janice as...
So, most of the choices come from the new Muppets added in "Muppets Tonight," as well as Walter and 80's Robot from "The Muppets." I imagine Cliff is the oldest character on the list, first appearing in "The Jim Henson Hour."
How about lesser known but still notable Muppets who didn't appear in the movie? Hopefully we'll see them in the next one. Here's my pics-
Annie Sue- Sort of a younger, cuter version of Miss Piggy, she naturally served as Piggy's occasional rival on the original show.
George the Janitor-...
Yeah, I guess that's more in keeping with his personality. Certainly, it would be interesting to see what roles Ludo, Hoggle, and Didymus played in the Goblin Kingdom before Sarah came along. Also, maybe it will explore something I've always wondered; were the other goblins in the Labyrinth once...
If this comic comes to pass, I hope they also delve into the pasts of other characters like Ludo, Hoggle, and Sir Didymus. I'd like to know how Didymus got the eyepatch.
I actually had a chance to get the Ludo plush a year ago at the Jim Henson Exhibit at the James A. Michener Museum in Doylestown, PA, but it seemed like a rather pricey souvenir and my brother wanted the Fizzgig plush, and I couldn't buy both. There are plushes of the Fierys and Sir Didymus...
I remember Cartoon All Stars quite well, as I saw it many times when I was a kid. The smog guy always reminded me of James Woods. Is it just me, or were the cartoon characters being a bit aggressive? It seems pretty bad looking back. I don't think kids and/or young adults react well to preachy...
Sorry muppetlover123, I called the Pirated Movie Police. You're in hot water now.
Seriously though, I myself have illegally download exactly 1 movie from the internet, and it's since been deleted from my computer. It was DC Comic's Crisis on Two Earths animated movie. Usually when there's a...
I'm sure I've had plenty of Muppet dreams, I've loved them all my life, but the only one I can remember at the moment is where I'm on a pier at the ocean and Crazy Harry pops out of nowhere and blows stuff up. He scared me when I was a kid. More recently, I had a dream where I was hanging out...
