    70`s Sesame Street Questions...

You have problems Mike rubbing people the wrong way. Boss boss boss, that's all you do to people.

    All-Star Alphabet is availible now!

I just bought this DVD for my daughter. I give it a C+. The pros: It has bonus classic clips like: "Daddy Dear (D)" , "Capital I", "ZZZ-Zoomers!" The cons: all of the bumper segments with Nicole Sullivan and Stephen Colbert are REALLY lame. Not enough Muppets, as was said before...

Ssetta: What season are their episodes showing from? The "Around the Corner" years?

Who was lucky enough to get Noggin from 1999-2003?

You can still get the classic shows apparently. If you have Comcast On Demand, they're showing shows from the first season starting Sept.

Classic Sesame on Sprout? Look here

Well, I was able to get the On Demand schedule for Sprout, and according to the list, they ARE showing Sesame Street episodes 6, 7, 8, 9, as well as some eps. from the late 3000's (would that be the 25th year?) Look here...

...and Carroll Spinney as Big Bird

What gets me is that Richard Hunt and Jim Henson aren't even credited as Muppeteers anymore, even though their voices are still heard. Case in point: "Do the Rubber Duck" is shown a lot still, and several of Hunt's and Henson's characters perform on that skit.

    The Electric Company DVD

Lemme see if I can view this from the Sesame Workshop's perspective: TEC is off the air, SS isn't. It has more of a 1970's retro feel, so nostalgic parents are more likely to buy into that. Plus, the novelty of having new Oscar winner Morgan Freeman in the cast is likely to be a major...

    The Electric Company DVD

Oh, geez. Here we go again. Mike - why do you continue to rain on everyone's parade? Electric Company has as much relevance to classic Sesame Street, as both programs pretty much went hand-in-hand back in the '70's. And surprisingly enough, many of the people who GREW UP watching and...

    characters who recited the alphabet

I can verify having the episode on tape and watched in dozens of times: N is Nancy - it was an Asian girl sitting next to Oscar's purple trunk next to her trash can. U is Ursula - it's a purple Anything Muppet female - I'm pretty sure it's Fran Brill too.

    Your Sesame Street Era

I was born in 1971, so pretty much 1974-1978. My older sister saw it from day one - November 10, 1969-on. She said that even as a kid, she remembers the hoopla and endless promotion counting down the days to Sesame Street premiere. You couldn't avoid it. It was kinda like the Desperate...

    Anyone ever met...?

I got to talk to Carroll Spinney on his book tour -- I asked him stuff like: "Which do you prefer to perform: Oscar or Big Bird" (He said Big Bird) "What do you think of the new Sesame studio in Kaufman Astoria? (Much better than the old movie theater on Broadway) I also work with...

    Sesame Street 36th Anniversary outline

I think this is a great idea - It's probably unlikely, however, that you would see a modern clip from 2002's Journey to Ernie played alongside 1969's skit "I ate the sandbox," only because they probably don't want to mix and match old and new Ernie's. It appears that Sesame Workshop...

    Favorite Performer

PERFORMANCE: MARTY ROBINSON - HIGHLY underrated - he's a master at subtlety. I love watching Telly when he's just listening to someone else - He seems so alive, yet focused. FRANK OZ - of course, who can match Frank's comic timing? When Frank's Grover, it's all over. VOICE TALENT...

Noggin is getting rid of 123 Sesame Street

Actually, the only season that's being shown on 123 SESAME STREET is the 2000-2001 season. And as I said before, 123 Sesame Street is a superior show to current Sesame.

    Sesame Street Live Memories

I remember SESAME STREET ON ICE, which were basically the Sesame characters meets Ice Capades. I saw a show in 1976, similar to the look and style as the beginning of Christmas Eve on Sesame Street.

Same Muppeteer Having Two Characters in One Scene

Do you guys usually associate Oscar as a monster? I know he was in the original "C is for Cookie" chorus, but I always thought it was b/c they were short on enough furry characters to fill the background and wasn't really a monster?

Same Muppeteer Having Two Characters in One Scene

"Do the Rubber Duck" actually has a LOT of characters played by the same Muppeteer: It's got: 2 Kevin Clashes - Hoots and Elmo 2 Jerry Nelsons - Count and Biff 2 Jim Hensons - Kermit and Ernie

Same Muppeteer Having Two Characters in One Scene

I was watching an old clip where the Sesame Street Little Theater proudly presents: "Let's Make a Face" and I think this is the only time I've ever seen where Frank Oz's Bert actually talks to and refers to Grover by name and vice versa. Other instances where Muppets, played by the same...

Prairie Dawn & Zoe Appreciation Thread

Right. And Fran's name in the 3-part Baby Bear/Curly Bear episodes was: Nurse Rhyme. (And Kevin Clash was the doctor in the waiting room behind her.)
