    Rowlf Puppet

I did a similar puppet with the same design a while back, Murky the swamp creature I used the same exact idea. It works really well, especially when you add foam. I've never heard of anyone putting two fingers in anything except the pinky, though. I guess that's preference.

    I'm shutting down KGZ

As if you were going to in the first place...don't worry, you'll get over the attention phase.

Do you know if Heather Asch is performing Ginger? I know she auditioned for the role. Also, do you know of any other performers on the show?

    Muppets Auditions Sept 2005+

Yeah, that may not be a good idea. After all, as you said, the Muppet and Disney people read the boards.

    Fur Question

As far as I know, there's no real "one way" to do it. I could be totally wrong, but I don't think Muppet monsters are intentionally made to look ragged. Take the new Grover for example. He's very groomed and has smoother longer fur. That's how the 70's Grover looked because he had just been...

    Questions about the Playhouse Videos

Here's a thought: BUY THE VIDEOS. They are all over ebay and the internet.

    Using webcam for puppet monitor

But your original question is pretty much the same as the one we've been talking about. There would be no difference from webcam and camcorder. They both show the mirrored image. Webcam will just give lower quality. So, yes, buy a webcam.

    Using webcam for puppet monitor

I'm jumping in to say that monitor experience is necessary in this business. If you're not committed to learning how to work on the monitor, frankly, it's not likley you'll get a job in the profession. It takes years to master, and it needs to be automatic before you can perform really well...

What was he original Gonzo's nose made of?

It's a block of foam, carved to shape, then painted. Jim made him as a backround puppet for The Great Santa Claus Switch, and he was supposedly made in about an hour. That would explain the crude look of him.

    Feedback on my puppets

You're definitley getting your own style, and I like it. Very nice work. One suggestion on the arm rods though. This is they way the Muppets (and almost all pro puppet companies) do arm rods, and it seems to work great. It adds a lot of wrist movement and the rod becomes a lot more stable. Plus...

So you want to audition for the Muppets?

You could also upload it for everyone to see. Photobucket is great for that kind of thing.

    Inside Mouth Material

Gasket Rubber is best for flexible puppets (Lowes, Home Depot). There's different thicknesses of it. A thick version can also be found of it which works good for rigid mouths. DO NOT USE FOAMCORE OR FUN FOAM Foamcore degrades easily, and Fun Foam isn't very flexible and it rips easily...

So you want to audition for the Muppets?

We have to get over it: Jim's gone. The company won't be run the same way since it's run by other people. Get used to it. You'll see some stuff you don't like.

The portion of the prize I did recieve was incomplete (missing the pattern) and I have yet to see the Foam Book, which was supposedly sent here twice. I emailed you twice about the problem rughly two weeks ago, using the email address provided in the "send Buck-Beaver and email" tab. Sorry if...

    Bad Transaction Alert: Andrew Young

Funny thing is that he's still posting on the forum (as Buck-Beaver) and has yet to reply to me or this thread. Sounds pretty cowardly.
