I agree that Sesame Workshop is getting lazier and lazier with their repeat episodes; they used to add new segments and even change the Things of the Day (at least since Season 40). Just slapping a new episode number onto an unchanged rerun is dishonest--like selling last year's detergent...

Almost any of the old Bert and Ernie sketches are laugh-your-rear-off funny; my Top 3 would be these-- Ernie bathing with an assortment of non-bath-related objects, which he rationalizes with bizarre "just in case" scenarios...and Bert looking flabbergasted when everything happens as Ernie...

So far, all I could afford was half the package--so I spent 13 dollars on all the Season 1 shows, Telly's debut, and Barkley's renaming. The rest will have to wait for a month, but it'll be totally worth the time!

I too keep my collection of Sesame Street episodes (about 65+ now) on an external hard drive; when an hour of video takes up half a gigabyte, I need all the room a fan can get! :insatiable:

I'm guessing that Cookie Monster was evolving into a more childlike character--the equivalent of 2-3 years old, with speech patterns to match. (Kids that young do have trouble with pronouns!) His behavior is also more monster-like than that of the friendlier talking monsters on Sesame Street...
