My review of Looney Tunes: Back in Action

Just saw the movie last night. My thoughts: This movie is a weird hybrid. On the one hand, you have the Warner Bros. animated stuff, most of which works pretty well; on the other, you have the typical big bloated WB production of late that has a lame nonsencial plot and big special effects...

    Thanksgiving menu

Ahh, another classic returns. Thanks, Jamie and Phil! I get such a kick out of this one. Do we have different menus leading up to Christmas, then? (Not different from last year, necessarily -- just different from each other each week.)

    Happy birthday, Mickey Mouse!

Well, it's 11:50 p.m. by my clock, so there's still just enough time to post this today. A major milestone: the first Mickey Mouse cartoon, "Steamboat Willie," was released 75 years ago today (Nov. 18, 1928). Happy birthday, Mickey!

    Happy Kermit the Frog Day!

As has been pointed out on TP, it was a year ago today that Kermit got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The mayor (?) declared that day was Kermit the Frog Day. That's as good as an annual holiday for me. So...happy Kermit the Frog Day, everyone! (Especially to Kermit.)

Looking for Muppet Time segments, etc.

Hi, all, I'm trying to compile a list of all the Muppet Time segments that aired on Nickelodeon. If anyone has such a list, please let me know. Or if you only know one or two, just shout 'em out. The only one I've ever seen involved an "opera" where a couple of screaming monsters (actually...

    All the new reviews

Hey, Phil! Just wanted to thank you for all the new reviews we've been seeing over the past few weeks. The reviews for the Storyteller, Ed Sullivan, and Rocky Mountain DVDs; Cindy's puzzle review; and even the VMC reviews. OK, those were actually from last year, but I hadn't seen mine up...

No new Columbia TriStar TMS DVDs?

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but there have been no new releases of The Muppet Show on DVD from Tri-Star Columbia. Volumes 1 and 2 were released in September, Volumes 3 and 4 were released in March. It's now September again, and I've heard nothing about Vols. 5 and 6. Yeah, at...

Anyone going to DragonCon? (Farscape related)

Hey, all, Anyone besides me going to Dragon*Con in Atlanta this weekend? We've got several guests from Farscape coming including Anthony Simcoe (D'Argo) and Lani Tupu (Crais, and the voice of Pilot). Problems with vBulletin

Why is it that when I post in a brand new thread that I'm really interested in (the Sullivan DVD thread, in this case), I DON'T get e-mail notification of new postings, yet I still get notifications about someone posting in, say, a "Left-Handedness" thread from two years ago? Even after I've...

    Article about Farscape fans

Thought you all might find this interesting...though the well-meaning article writer gets a few things wrong, i.e. "Farscape's ratings didn't improve even after being pared with SG-1," not "Farscape's ratings were just fine till Sci-Fi bumped it from its slot with SG-1." (And that's nothing...

Muppet figures from Jack in the Box now on eBay

My set of figures are now up on eBay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3135771101&category=16485 It says "U.S. and Canadian buyers only" because I had one really bad experience with each party having to wait forever and thinking the other had bailed; and the payment system...
