Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
My favorite parts were "Oh, that you Elmo. Sorry." Elmo going "Got it!" "Elmo just did it. Oh, five!" And Elmo's awesome harmony at 2:26. And of course, I was pleasantly surprised to see Forgetful Jones come back.
The Muppet Fans Talking guys discuss Goofer's scene in Happytime Murders:
JD Hansel: Tell me this, which way is the line funnier, when he says wiener or when he says p***s? Because it's wiener in the trailer.
Jarrod Fairclough: I thought wiener was funnier.
JD: Absolutely!
Steve Swanson: Yeah...
I really liked how Cookie Monster was able to figure out what happened to Chris' belt buckle. I also liked how everyone jumped when they heard "Hey! Sesame Street News." The bit with Keegan Michael-Key was funny. They seemed to have made some improvements to Monster Foodies. When Cookie and...
I really liked the plot twist where Kermit didn't see that Fozzie's gift was a sculpture of him until he showed it. I really like how thoughtful Piggy was trying to be towards Summer.
I thought it was very good. I loved when James and Kermit broke into Man or Muppet. I also like how one of the guests said he owned a puppet wagon and Kermit said he can't stand puppets. Muppets denying their puppets never gets old.
I'm sure Alex will have stuff to say about this since he's a fan of Don't Stop Believing.
JD Hansel: I'm annoyed with Elf, largely cause I feel like it's been thrust upon me every Christmas season since it came out.
Steve Swanson: Just be honest, cause other people like it, that's way you...
I liked the cold open with Ernie failing to take Bert's picture: "Where's my face, Ernie? On the front of your face, Bert." My favorite parts of the street story were Telly being a fashion show director with Elmo telling the worms they look beautiful and Grover getting upset about having to do...
Going through Facebook I learned that since Stacey Gordon lives in Arizona, Lara MacLean (Lars) did Julia in the parade. Also, Alice Dinnean was there, which is surprising since I thought she lived in LA. And Tyler Bunch and John Kennedy were there. If anyone happens to know who they operated...
It was great seeing Gonger and Julia in the float. Julia wearing noise-canceling headphones was a nice subtle way to remind casual viewers of her autism.
I would like to point out that when the DVD comes out December 4th, one of the bonus features will be a commentary by Brian Henson and Bill Barretta! Even the people who weren't crazy about the movie, you gotta admit that makes the DVD worth buying. For instance, I'm not really a fan of the Dark...
It took some setting up of an HBO Go account, but I finally watched the episode. The best part of the street story was the return of Gladys and Ryan's performance as Elmo trying to one-up Abby. The replacement for Kindness Cam is a little odd. The new Abby segment is okay. I don't know how I...
They're both still Henson puppeteers though. They both had speaking roles in Happytime Murders and Drew participated in the Muppets' concerts at the Hollywood Bowl and the O2 Arena.
Keep in mind, ever since they announced the new Muppet Babies, Steve was worried it was gonna be terrible.
JD Hansel: So there's a new Muppet Babies series that airs on Friday mornings on the Disney Channel. Have you seen this, Steve?
Steve Swanson: You know what's funny? I know what you think...
I forgot to mention that. It is nice that Guy still has that deep voice when he sings. Also I really liked the songs in the special. Since they were written by Broadway composers, they were able to show just how good the puppeteers can sing. Also, how funny was it to see Chris talk in Elmo's voice?
