April Fools: Insider info on Old School sets

Just out of the blue, somebody from Sesame Workshop sent me official internal memos and documents regarding planning on the Sesame Street Old School releases, both those that have been released and those that have not (at least not yet). I've been told I'm getting these as part of a special...

April Fools: Dinosaurs CGI Reboot Coming to Disney+

Today brand-new official Dinosaurs pages on both Facebook and Twitter were launched, and the first posts on those pages announced a CGI reboot coming to Disney + in the near future. As said in the post, APRIL FOOLS!

    Crazy Harry speaking roles

Oh, I didn’t realize you were mainly asking about Jerry Nelson as Crazy Harry speaking.

    Crazy Harry speaking roles

It seems like Crazy Harry is a bit limited with dialogue though he often does speak full sentences. He does have a bit of dialogue in The Muppets Valentine Show. When he does his first "did somebody say dynamite?", the others deny it and he says "somebody said dynamite!", after they again say...

    The "You know what?" thread

It seems like on many shows, family is a bit limited, at least when it comes to regular/main characters. It seems like on most shows that involve a family, or when the family of the main character are major characters, it's often just a household family. Usually just parents and siblings, maybe...

No, I think it is weird as well.

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

With all this talk about how rare recordings of Sesame Street are or might be, it makes me wonder what episodes were recorded off PBS by the most people. Would be hard to determine. And I'm not counting recordings off Noggin or later cable broadcasts (where more of us would want to record). I'm...

Do you think Rudy could become the new Elmo?

I've often felt like Telly, particularly when worrying or being indecisive. I didn't really know those types when I was a kid, but still enjoyed and related to the character. Even if there were a lot of characters I liked better. Of course until I saw it pointed out on sites like this in the...

    Little things we've noticed

While on the packaging for The Best of Kermit on Sesame Street Kermit and Grover are only in partial tuxedos (kinda like Chippendales dancers, though we don’t see if they wear pants), yet in the actual video they both wear full tuxedos (and while the partial tuxedo look is fine on Grover, I...

    Little things we've noticed

I thought Genius and Warner Home Video did. then again, after Genius took over video distribution, a lot of them have been harder to find. Some were more common at first, some I’ve seen in stores on rare occasions, and I kinda want to say that some Genius rereleases I’ve only seen on the wiki...

    Little things we've noticed

To be fair, since about 1998 it's been rare for a Sesame Street video to not have Elmo on the cover, and very few covers before then had Telly. When it came to Sony Wonder's rereleases, I wonder what made them decide on whether to create a brand-new cover photo as opposed to basically using...

    Little things we've noticed

And it's clear that Cookie Monster was superimposed into the Sing Yourself Sillier cover, so apparently a cover with just Oscar and Telly wasn't marketable enough. And it does seem like Oscar wasn't on many video covers (the Sony Wonder release of Getting Ready to Read had Big Bird in place of...

    Little things we've noticed

I did think about that after posting, But to be fair, he wasn’t alone on the cover. Big Bird was there with him, so it’s not just a minor character by himself carrying the release. also, Forgetful Jones was more of a “core” Sesame Street Muppet than Little Chrissy and the Alphabeats. Even if...

    Little things we've noticed

With those characters not being main characters, maybe they didn’t think they were popular enough to put on the cover. Though Little Chrissy and the Alphabeats were on the original cover of Rock and Roll.

    Little things we've noticed

I think I've talked about this in this thread already, but it seems like Frank and Richard never really had any duos on Sesame Street, and it was rare for their characters to have one-on-one pairings, though the opposite is the case with The Muppet Show. And you could say that Jim and Kevin...

    Little things we've noticed

When I first saw that one, I thought he sounded a bit different. I wondered if that was Meehl’s Telly (back then my only source for hearing his voice was Don’t Eat the Pictures, where he sounded a lot different from there, not to mention I had access to some of Martin Robinson’s early Telly...

    Classic Sesame Clips on YouTube

Are they not taking the requests, or just not replying to requests? I don't think Sesame Workshop responds to social media posts. And maybe they're not reading the requests (maybe they get too many to read them all).

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

I always figured maybe it's easier to syndicate reruns of an hour-long show than a 90-minute show. And I think I read that the 30 minutes cut from each episode are bits that didn't work, Weekend Update reports that didn't work, and (which could be due to licensing) the musical guests second number.

Segments that were possibly taped on the same day

Well, Jim, Frank, and Jerry all performed together in a lot of segments together, especially during the 1970s, and the two Fat Blue AM's are decorated in different clothing and facial features. Not saying it's not likely, just not enough for me to think they were shot the same day.

    Dreams about Muppets...

Last night I dreamt that I saw a rare Sesame Street clip online, it had Biff and Sully... and Sully actually had a lot of dialogue in it. And it did not sound like any Richard Hunt character (sounds more like the kind of boy voice heard in songs like Rainy Day Song, Drink of Water, Ookyook...
