Yes. That's one of the things I love about it: there is so much room for interpretation of the story and characters. Plus, like you said, the vocals are mindblowing.
P.S. If you end up seeing Django Unchained, Ted Neeley from the original Jesus Christ Superstar movie has a cameo. Really weird...

I made such a jerk of myself talking to these Muppet performers. It was the first time I ever met any of them, and I was pretty much speechless - I swear, for a few minutes, I reverted to the four year old who revered these guys. Luckily, they were all kind. :P

It's an excellent book. Pity it is not a more widespread publication. Anyone with an interest in the Muppets, Sesame Street, or just television writing in general, would benefit from reading it.
I love adult puppetry as well. I just think Henson is more sophisticated than this. They've been funnier before. I'm no prude, but "puppies pooping?" Really? Henson has always been cutting edge, not juvenile.
Seriously, it's stupid. But it's possible too that they have a press packet with a bunch of questions that are "ok" to ask, with pre-written responses.
