What TV characters remind you of Muppets?

I did not know that. I like South Park and yet I missed that fact. Good call bringing in The Young Ones. Here's one I thought of... Grungetta - Vyvyan's Mum

I Wonder: Gonzo's Trumpet Bit on TMS

Here's something that I've often thought about regarding Gonzo's trumpet intro in TMS. We know that at the beginning of each episode something goes wrong. But how would we know if something went right? I mean, I realized, I don't think I know how what Gonzo's contribution is supposed to be...

Try looking it up spelled, "Eureeka's Castle". That's the way I found it on imdb.com.

    Sesame Street performance question

The same thing Ethel Mermaid does when she performs, as well two Muppets spoofing Nelson Eddy & Jeanette MacDonald (Indian Love Call), perhaps? :)

    Heyyyyyyyy Herbie Babyyyyy........

I could be mistaken, but from what I gather, there hasn't been a new segment with Herbert written for about 30 years. (Whoa!) I wish I could relocate the post, but Jerry had written that although he liked the character, Jim and Frank didn't feel nearly the same way. So he was most likely...

    Henson sells Muppets to Disney

Kermit on SS merchandise? Phil, What does this mean for the future sales of videos like "The Best of Kermit on Sesame Street" and CD recordings which include Kermit songs? Would Sesame Workshop have to cease selling copies of these? I'm just being inquisitive, not a worry wart :) on how...

    Eureka's Castle

Yes, Noel was indeed Magellan. Also featured was Pam Arciero and Brian Meehl. They played sibling monster-like things, I think one of their names was "Quagmire." Brian voiced that character like his version of Telly Monster. I wish I could remember the names of the rest of the characters.

    Other character's in Oscar's Trashcan

I can't help but think that Oscar's niece Irvine must have been seen in the can at one time or another. Oscar's mom, too. (Both Marty Robinson).

"Best of Kermit on Sesame Street" - any DVD plans?

Hi Phil, Do you know if there are plans anytime some from Sesame Workshop to release "The Best of Kermit on Sesame Street" on DVD? I didn't see it on Amazon. That one, next to "Monster Hits" (now on DVD) is among my true favorites.

    David Rudman's Beggining days

I don't know if this was the first character, but there was a short lived owlet (or is is "owllet?") named Athena, who was the granddaughter or niece of Hoots. She liked to scat. One of the cutest memories I have is her trying to get musical advice from Placido Flamingo. Again, I don't know...

Things that make you go YAY!

This is my 500th post! I have nothing important to say in it, but that makes me go YAY! Is that not the most exciting thing you've ever read....in the last 2 minutes? YAY!!!

    Heyyyyyyyy Herbie Babyyyyy........

Jerry once wrote about Herbert in another thread (it isn't up anymore, sorry) in which he took a liking to the character, but Jim and Frank felt differently. Kind of a "this just isn't working" feeling. That's show business, whataya-gonna-do? Also, if I understand the story correctly, Herbert...

    Two Big Birds

I guess everyone knows this anyway, but the Matt Vogel bird is also used as Granny Bird, at least from what I remember in the Hurricane episodes. I think it's kind of sweet that Caroll also provides the voice of Granny Bird.

Carroll's characters beyond Big Bird and Oscar

I think he was one of the Monotones, the tall Orange AM, in "Mad".

What Sesame DVD's are best for "older" fans?

I think "Monster Hits" is on DVD. That's among my favorites. Lot of classic old Muppety stuff.

    How many puppeteers are there?

Quite a list. I'm still puzzled, however, about who this mysterious Muppeteer was, who usually played Anything Muppet characters like one of the Rhymies, and is probably left-handed. It almost sounds like John Lovelady. Could it be Brian Meehl? I have my doubts, because even most of Brian's...
