Why is Susan rarely seen on Sesame Street?

Actually, she did appear in the graduation episode, if memory serves.

Am I the only one who didn't like the Calypso Theme Song?

You just gave me nightmares of a hip-hop version.

Should Sesame Street continue after season 40?

The fate of the show depends on the quality of the creative personnel that are in place when that day comes. The current team seems to me to be doing rather well.

    you do have to wonder...

I think it probably would be jarring to see Hooper's store run by a different person every day. Besides, the more recent shows make use of the most up-to-date research, so they would probably just rerun the shows after a certain point (now, for example, they use shows from season 34 on).

Am I the only one who didn't like the Calypso Theme Song?

Okay, that was during the time I had outgrown the show, and my computer for some reason does not have sound (I think it happened when I replaced my hard drive) so was it a newfangled arrangement of the old theme, or did they have a different melody and lyrics?

Should Sesame Street continue after season 40?

Well, with only twenty-six episodes a year, they have trouble getting enough use out of the humans they have. Besides, didn't they just add Marco?

Should Sesame Street continue after season 40?

Don't forget, Sesame Street isn't just a show, it's a laboratory. As long as the research is current (and PBS doesn't run out of money) they should be able to continue for a long time. Besides, if the show were in danger of going away, we wouldn't be seeing all these ancillary materials...

Genius Products and Sesame Workshop Announce Distribution/Co-Production Agreement

$30 per average set *2 half-hours per hour (SS episodes are longer than sitcoms) /24 episodes (the norm for sitcom seasons of a certain vintage; earlier shows have more, later ones have fewer) *4134 episodes (as of the end of season 37) = a third of my gross annual salary. Besides, if...

I Dream of Jeannie's Upcoming Failure

I didn't mean Barbara Eden specifically, I meant hard-to-replace stars in general.

I Dream of Jeannie's Upcoming Failure

I guess that's why nobody's remade I Love Lucy yet.

    Next Muppet Movie

True, but that was before the character's voice had solidified; they were performing in different octaves. Jacobson's Piggy voice is much closer to Oz's.

    Where was the Birdland?

I was just curious, as that period of the show's history was between the time I outgrew the show and when I rediscovered it as an adult. I've been able to figure out from written descriptions and pictures where the other locations were, but that one I'm not 100% sure.

    Sesame Street Season 38 Preview

Part of the problem there is that southern cuisine was developed for people who got more exercise in the course of their daily lives than we today do trying. Abby almost seemed to be leaning that way. Maybe it was just the voice. If they want to prepare kids for school, I as a teacher think...

    Elmo's World: The Movie?

Maybe it's just me, but somehow I think the Elmo's World format just works better as a series of several fifteen-minute segments, each focused on an individual topic, than as a single ninety-minute movie. I mean, you'd have to find a topic that could sustain that length. Now a movie featuring...

Is anyone else not looking forward to the Fraggle Rock movie?

Comnsidering Ernie's still around, I don't think we have anything to worry about there. I, myself, am cautiously optimistic about the movie. I won't succumb to hype (and thus set myself up for disappointment), but the fact that Zappa knows what the show is about gives me hope that it won't be...

    Big Bird's Doors

I think I once read something to the effect that such doors were once used as a fence around construction zones.

Noticeable Changes to the set over the years

That one makes good practical sense, actually. I, myself, have been wondering just what that tire swing that appears and disappears for the same reason is supposed to be hanging from. I recently noticed something else: In older episodes, and this season, the bottom of the stairs in the arbor...
