Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
The jokes are (usually) puns/play-on-words about houses/architecture.
Except that the show isn't always about the interaction between the two. And how exactly are the Mummenschanz supposed to interact with the Muppets, based on the act that they do? Some guests in future seasons do numbers...
Now who's talking hyperbole? "Killed the franchise"?
I consider The Muppets to be the worst Muppet Movie as I felt it was less a Muppet film and more a Disney film disguised as a Muppet film. It has nothing to do with "some self centered old school fanboy self-righteousness."
We're being...
Actually, according to Jerry Nelson the only reason they couldn't afford McCartney was because it had to be him, Linda and Wings. I think all the other Beatles turned them down.
In terms of Cher, she was booked to be a guest for Season Four, however it's likely that the ITV blackout of 1979...
You're missing the point; unnamed reliable sources are usually unreliable sources. ISTR a few years back there as a blog post that used the "reliable source" phrase concerning the release of TMS Season Four.
I put "reliable sources" in the same category as "source close to the star" - and we...
'fraid not; that scene was part of the new material that was taped for that episode in late Summer/early Spring 1976. The first proper chop is the Ruth Buzzi episode as it's the only episode not to have a sound effect dubbed on in post-production.
Don't think so; the relationship between each character is complex and at times contradictory. Although they metaphorically push and pull at each other constantly, at the end of the day they pull together when it matters the most.
One other thing to add is that that production order doesn't reflect the taping order. For example, while Cheryl ladd's episode is no. 24 of the third year, her episode was taped prior to the filming of "The Muppet Movie".
The problem is that the two Pilots featuring Juliet Prowse and Connie Stevens were taped in late January 1976 and then reworked over late Summer/early Fall 1976. Scooter doesn't appear in the original Juliet Prowse Pilot and I suspect he didn't appear in the original Connie Stevens Pilot...
Yiu may as well then say there was "no point" in making specials like "Hey Cinderella" or "The Frog Prince" since it was "yet another retelling of a story already told."
For "some" CBS stations carried it, read "all". Colour adverts from Daily Variety confirm that it was screened in the US by all the CBS-owned stations.
In terms of the UK, ITV aired the show.
The pillow is part of the costume and has no direct relation to the song. The implication is that Miss Piggy's character is pregnant, and that is why she is marrying Kermit's character - he's the father.
The only true joke is that Miss Piggy refuses to remove the pillow because she likes the...
