I agree. Do them right or don't do them at all. The real posers are a tad smaller than the real puppets. That part is ok. The reason the real deal may have cost more than 200 bucks to make, is because the real posers had steel armatures with joints built inside them. Those can be costly. I say...
HAHAHAHAHA! I have seen it close up! HAHA! I noticed the eyes on Animal as well. I forgot to mention it. The eyes should be the area that MR and Disney focus on the most! Eyes are everything in a character! A little bit off and the likeness is gone! Unfortunately all of our complaining won't...
The bottom line is...Disney merch people like to cut corners and keep the production costs down so they can make as much profit as possible. I know if MR had their way, they would probably do some things different. Look at all the Lucasfilm product...all of it is incredible. As an artist, I have...
Terry's prototypes of Kermit, Animal, Gonzo and Fozzie are amazing! It's too bad that MR and the people in China can't replicate them exact. If the pictures on your myspace profile were the actual versions that MR shipped out, I think all of us would be beyond words.
When I saw it at the Con, the teeth looked like foam that was painted white. Could of done without the white paint...made it look cheap. Maybe that was just on the proto? I'm sure they are figuring something out. :halo: Great news about Fozzie! That's about half of what we all thought it was...
Alright...So I went the Comic Con this weekend with my girlfriend. I didn't bee line for the MR booth, I knew I would stumble upon it. That place was huge! It took a few hours, and finally...there they were. Now...I have been a professional sculptor for years, working on everything from toys to...
I'd rather wait until they get Gonzo right...bump him back a character if need be. We will all be way more happy in the long run. You hear that MR? Don't rush it...make it perfect! Well...I'm off to the Comic Con to see those bad boys in person.
Not bad...not bad...it's way closer to how it should look. Now all they have to do is fix that nose. Anything would be better than that purple nylon they have strapped over it...ha ha
The one thing I don't understand is...the pupil size. It's so funny that they have that poster behind them and it clearly shows how oversized the pupils are on the MR versions. They messed up the pupils on Kermit (we know this already and it's sad because he would of been 100% spot on perfect if...
Wow! Fozzie looks great! Ha...get ready for a $800 price tag on that one! :o I'm not worried about Animal's hair...that can be fixed. Gonzo...Gonzo...Gonzo... What's up with that bright purple nose and bad suit 'ol buddy? :concern:
I noticed in some of the more current "poser calendar type pics" that Animal might be fleece, but in all the original movies and Muppet Show he was dyed reticulated foam. In the book "Of Muppets And Men" There is a huge photo of Animal on one of the chapter pages and his whole body including his...
It will be interesting to see what Animals body will look like in person, since the original was all reticulated foam. If they use a fleece (from the proto type pics, that seems to be what it is) hopefully he doesn't look too fuzzy.
I pre-ordered mine at 8:59 sharp...ha ha! Fix that nose! I am excited though...I know he will look great. So...a bit off topic...I was at Star Wars Celebration IV this past weekend and a dealer had an MR Kermit in the Luke Skywalker outfit holding a scaled MR lightsaber (like in those promo...
I agree...the only time we saw that nose move was when he was running around as a puppet or when he got it all twisted up in an elevator or something...These are "photo puppets" and for display. If MR could find a rigid or non rigid material that by looking at it (not touching it) had that soft...
There is no way the MR replica collar is the same material as the original. The felt on the MR copy is that cheap Michaels Craft store felt. The color is wrong too. You could tug on it and it would pull apart. I am going to replace his collar for sure with something more accurate. The cut is...
Well, when I received my Kermit a few weeks ago, I noticed the eyes were set too close together and it looked very strange. Everyone's photos were looking very cool and my Kermit looked nothing like that. It was the eyes. So, MR customer service was very nice and I sent it back. I am now waiting...
