Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
They haven't even decided how Sweetums will come out at all yet. If he is sold directly by Palisades they have said it will be for sale to everyone, not just the collectors club. They need to sell as many as they can so its great you will support them by buying three.
The resurgance of Fraggle Rock is a Henson thing, they have been trying to test the market for putting some Fraggle themed stuff out to nostalgia collectors. The show was not sold to Disney.
I don't like Kermit, but Animal and especially Pepe are quite good. That's the closest non-Henson built Pepe i've seen - would like to see him with clothes. I bet those auctions don't stay up long.
Ghost of Faffner Hall, The (1989)
Another passionate interest of Jim Henson was the power of music. This is reflected in The Ghost of Faffner Hall--a thirteen-part series made in England for Tyne Tees Television and HBO in 1989, produced by Jocelyn Stevenson.
Each episode of Faffner Hall...
I think there is some definite optimism that Disney and Henson will be working so closely together over the coming years that the mouse won't want them working with another big distributor so offer to distribute the new fantasy films, TV productions and possibly the existing library as payoff...
Yes but they can sign an agreement with Henson to distribute their stuff like Farscape, Fraggle Rock, Moppatops, Hoobs, Construction Site and the movies. They don't need to own them to put them out on DVD or put the merchandise in their stores.
I think we've ALL established your stand on this issue Mark. I don't think there is anything really more to say on this until we actually see some proof of anything from either Disney or Henson. Until then, we can all just agree to disagree and move on.
Very unlikely. I heard that the first thing we will see of Disney's Muppets will either be Oz, or the birthday in 2005. Not much until very late this year, early next year it seems.
wow - you learn something new everyday. I had no idea - i read a couple of the books at school and enjoyed the BBC TV series which i thought was done very well. I'd hazard a guess that the movie products choosing to start with LWW had more to do with it being the most famous and exciting book...
Thats a fantastic Muppet Show insight by "MC" Friend Ken Plume, nice to see him featuring the Muppets at IGN. I thought the piece was very nicely written, nice choice of pics too. Can't wait to see the others!
Hey Paul,
I'd be very interested in this, although i wouldn't be looking to sign up for about another couple of months. Do you know how many MSQL connections can be active at the same time? It matters for a large forum if there are two few and lots of people are trying to access information
