Now that it's official, I might as well post some more thoughts: I'm very happy with this, I feel like he'll be a wonderful choice for the movie. It's a shame he didn't get his cameo in the last movie, so at least now he'll be able to work with the Muppets some more. Gervais was great working on...

Just to clarify, the people a bit worried about the human roles ARE NOT worried about the actors themselves for the most part as much as we are about the fact that the script is calling for too much human.

That is true, I just hope they don't make it too human heavy. I want this movie to focus more on the Muppets than on Ty Burrell and Ricky Gervais. We already had enough of overusing humans with Gary and Mary last time...

The article linked above mentioned that Gervais would serve as one of the three human leads in the film.

I don't like the fact that we have three human leads in this. But as for Mr. Gervais, I don't mind him much, and I would be satisfied with him in the movie...nothing great, but not the worst choice on the block, at least.
