I think it will be better with Sony behind things. I know they had an idea to do a prequel movie from back on Melmac up until ALF crashed, but maybe the more marketable format (to attract new viewers and kids at least) is to re-do the sitcom, or at least lead upto a point where they can do that...
I'm sure Steve and Bill loved and appreciated what you did and especially what you said, and they knew you were a MC'er. Don't worry.
As for Disney PR reps, they didn't know you and have to act, otherwise the next person who comes along and might not have the same genuine motives as you see's...
I'm not sure about a Muppet display in wax, but ive not seen fabric done in wax so what Beau says is interesting. I do LOVE Reevz idea of Jim holding Kermit. I know Disney is steering away from showing Muppets as puppets but i think if you contact the Jim Henson Legacy and its done via them...
I remember Gyles from TV back in the 80's
It's fantastic one of the three original Fozzie's is there. I must go and see him. Looks great on display but could do with being preserved in better conditions.
Hi All
Looks like The Muppets isnt the only new puppetry rebirth .... Sony has greenlit a new ALF theatrical movie.

Great news. The creators of ALF (similar to Jim) have always been very protective...
No Kermit, but here's the clip.

I thought it went really well, and it's great how they used them in context, like it suited the song and them being there.
Yeah agreed, if the plan is a lifelong brand they may prefer generic stuff. True about the other Muppet movies with their merch, but with them a little more firmly with Diz now i thought it was Diz's style to go movie specific. I guess they are finding their feet with this, tho i'm surprised...
The Muppets will be performing with Olly Murs, a singer on the UK version of The X-Factor tonight at 8pm (GMT) on ITV1. For any overseas friends who want to watch, the show is usually streamed live by people on www.justin.tv though i'm sure it will be on Youtube soon after anyway.
It'll be...
Yeah gotta see this in the theater. Currently resisting the urge to jump on plane lol
I need to see this in a big theater too, none of those industry screenings that take place in a theater the size of a matchbox lol
I know this was to Beaker, but just jumping in on it. Yes there is generic Muppet merchandise but as far as licensed Merch for "The Muppets - Movie" theres an album, a poster and not much else. I don't really agree they had to earn their place back - its a massive multi million dollar Disney...
For it to have been booked onto every show and be everywhere, and with the general hype thats going around, id say theres no chance this won't do brilliantly. They managed to create the buzz and thats half the job. I think we are talking TV shows now AS WELL as movies. I think the only thing...
Not going to hang around the threads too much as it doesnt come out till FEBRUARY here (and we'll see if i can last that long before either getting on a plane or just watching a dvd copy) but wanted to say hope everyone has a great time seeing the film and im glad to see so much positive...
