Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
I think Sam has a love of country over politics. He supports the best ideas and ideals that America can/has/should offer. I could see him being a fan of Republican John McCain - a veteran and war hero. I could see him being a fan of Democrat Seth Moultan - a veteran and war hero. I could see...
As one of the perpetrators of the joke I agree. It seemed like the heat on the pot was set too high and it was ready to boil over. I thought a brief diversion would allow it to return to simmer. It was not my intent to hijack or diminish the thread. It is an important topic. One with...
See, and it is because the light goes out we didn't see each other. It's simple science. Oh and breaking and entering (into a home and a fridge). I hope Censored is a forgiving type or Pig's Laundry and I will be going to jail for a long time. I hope Tina Fey is the warden.
I don't have a horse in this race - I sold it for this cow - but I say wait a bit. Get some more positive feedback (which will come) from more live shows. A blockbuster video like Bohemian Rhapsody would be great. It can very easily happen. I think a few more breadcrumbs in the path will...
I agree 100% with Pig's Laundry (what a fun thing to type). I'd like to see them do more live shows spread out over the US (the World?) and maybe a lengthier sit down version in NYC or Las Vegas. More Youtube videos would be crucial to feed those fans not near the live shows. And one TV...
I am guessing Miss Piggy is the toughest of the Muppets to write for. It's the right blend of diva/insecurity that needs to be traversed. I may be paraphrasing or mis-remembering but Frank Oz at one point said she was not a very good singer or actress etc. When I watched the season 2 DVD with...
Well, then you have never met me. Oh wait I am actually wrong about 76% of the time. Wait that was also wrong it is actually 88% of the time. In conclusion do not take stock market tips from me.
A bit from column A and a bit from column B. I think the first three season sets are very good (and close to excellent). There are a few musical numbers not included (due to licensing issues I believe?) You get some extra features and it is the full season. I own all three. With the Time...
It was a mixed bag. I think if it had a second season (even an abridged 12 episode order) there would have been a vast improvement.
I've read several places that after the positive response to the pitch video the show was rushed into production. I think the ambitious nature of the show...
Another aspect to the performance aside from the voice is the actual puppeteering and body language. I think all of the new crew do a great job of capturing those little tics that the characters have. Whether it be Floyd's strut, Janice's head tilt when she talks, Uncle Deadly gliding into a...
I believe that as Ryan was thinking someone (John Kennedy perhaps) referred to The Weight saying something like "Fallon" or "Late Night" something that made me think of the appearance. Kennedy was probably there too as they needed by my unofficial count two dozen plus puppeteers.
Jamie's list was put together with the assumption that series four would be the last. There has been some murmuring that it may not even come to be. If four does get produced and it went on to series five I assume Lips and Bobo would be contenders there.
Jamie has some good suggestions. These are either core characters: Pepe and Deadly; complete a tableau: The Snowths; are fan favorites: Lew and Sweetums and Walter is also there as well. Actually Walter would be a good addition for any new fans introduced to the Muppets from the last two...
So much for copious notes. I would have thought there would have been at least a daily pass option (which still would be about 125.00) but if you did a full day of events and screenings and such it could be worth it.
This is very exciting news. As D'Snowth mentioned I am not sure exactly when I'll be able to see it. We'll need all the posters here to be vigilant if they learn of any showings, because as D'Snowth pointed out these films can have very limited i.e. one weekend runs. On a side note (that...
