    Video for a contest

Hey guys, So.....I made a very short video for a "make a commercial for etsy.com & win $" contest. The problem is that it goes to the finals by the number of views it gets (the rating option to the side has nothing to do with it..just the number of views) SO....I'm desperately trying to have...

Think twice before buying from puppet-planet.com

While I don't know her personally, she doesn't seem like the type to maliciously steal someone's money and run. I'm sorry the communication has been lost. That's incredibly frustrating. I hope you hear from her soon and that everything turns out well.

Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board

yeah that's one thing that I really, really enjoy. It's like being able to be a cartoon character live on a stage. Not only are you physically able to do more, you can do more socially. we've played with a lot of different styles. We'd been doing it where the puppets are the improvisers, but...

Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board

I agree with Brian, it's really hard to hear. That happens with high energy group scenes--but then add the audience (who were enjoying themselves immensely!) and characterized voices (which are more difficult to understand), plus less-than-perfect acoustics, and you've got a big jumble on the...

    Inflating/Deflating Puppet (any ideas?)

The puppet will be in a fixated position as well as perspective. the thing isn't moving at all during the show. Its only job is to sit there & look pretty...and grow. Yes, short bursts. The other one shrinks in short bursts. With the balloon idea, do you think that it would make the balloon...

Sock Zombie - New puppet video

Yes! Kate is who she was talking about. Oooh, I was probably at that comicon. We should totally connect at the P of A fest. I'll probably be spending most of my time at the puppetry store. (working--otherwise that's just creepy), so just wander over there & find the redhead. Mention sock...

    Inflating/Deflating Puppet (any ideas?)

they're somewhat furry...not terribly The head *is* the body...think Rainbow Brite's Sprite (C'mon guys, pretend you were a little girl in the 80s). The character grows throughout the story, so ideally I'd need to find a good stretchy material that also suits the needs of the look of the...

    Too young for puppets?

Well...I think you said it best. You let kids admire them from afar. My son is 5. He has practically grown up inside of a puppet theater. He loves using puppets, he loves looking at the puppets in the theater up close. He's even been *in* puppet shows at the theater. But the moment he sees a...

    Inflating/Deflating Puppet (any ideas?)

oh beach ball might be a good idea for the one that grows...the other one needs to shrink. Brian, imagine the character being a small, round little guy that kinda resembles a Sprite from Rainbow Brite. The main body/head needs to grow or shrink.

    Inflating/Deflating Puppet (any ideas?)

I've been asked to make a puppet that gets bigger throughout the show. Conversely, his counterpart needs to shrink. They'd ideally be sitting on a cactus & operated with a foot pump while the storyteller does her thing (since her hands will be full of giant book) Any thoughts on how I could...

    Breaking the Magic

the puppets would eat the kids' brains. Honestly, unless it's part of a show--like mid-show, I don't see any reason you shouldn't tell children that puppets aren't alive. And even if it *is* mid-show, so a kid yells out "you're a puppet!" ...what harm is there in saying "yes, yes I am!"...
