Avenue Q's response to Bohemian Rhapsody

Ave Q is still touring..and yeah, with not exactly stellar puppeteers. Some are great, some...eeeh not so much. This video likely reflects that ;)

    My Puppets on The View

thanks guys! Wes, well, I made them specifically for them to be given to Joy Behar, but they also filmed us doing the same thing with them. I saw some friends tonight whom I hadn't seen in awhile & they brought up the puppetry & how bad it was, so...yeah...you guys need to raise your standards...

    My Puppets on The View

lack of imagination to the hilt. We actually sent them videos of us doing the exact same thing (different clip), but we only had 4 of the ladies because there were only 2 puppeteers available (me & my friend Brianna, who made the costumes)...But Etsy filmed it in my back room when they did the...

    My Puppets on The View

Thanks guys! My mom called to tell me how proud she was of me & how upset she was by the bad the manipulation. (Moms are great!) Cookie, good idea! I usually include tips about displaying & storing the puppets, but giving a little written (or pictorial) instruction would be cute, too. :) All...

    My Puppets on The View

Etsy.com actually commissioned me to make them over a year ago as a thank-you gift to Joy Behar for taking some time to write an article for their blog; in it she mentioned that she used to make papier mache puppets as a kid. So I sent them off last Feb. or March & heard nothing until about 2...

    My Puppets on The View

Oh the whole thing is up on the official website. They actually used a puppet (with that super weird hair!) as the thumbnail! http://theview.abc.go.com/video/joys-month-review-february (And you get to hear Barbara say that it's adorable)

    My Puppets on The View

i'm not sure who did the puppeteering. I just watched it again a few times. They've had the puppets for over a year now, & I think maybe they weren't stored right or something...the hair on some of them was flat-out frightening & the puppets look like they'd been squished! EEP! Overall I'm...

    My Puppets on The View

Thanks! It was just on here on the west coast. HORRIBLE puppeteering! I'll send the link once I find it online tomorrow :D

    My Puppets on The View

So...in case you don't read it in any of the other 50 places I've posted it...I just got an email (about an hour ago?) that my puppets are on "The View" today!

    Copyrights, Fan-Art, and You

As per usual, I started writing a big ol' forum post, but then thought it might be good blog material, so it went there instead. Feel free to open the can of worms here if it makes you feel more comfortable. You can also choose to discuss it like a grown-up here, but I'm not sure if that's as...

    Question on Puppet Heap patterns...

Honestly, I totally recommend hand sewing to people who *can* sew by hand. I've seen a few puppets that have been hand sewn that were sewn by people who have less experience & skill with that. A poorly hand-sewn puppet can fall apart after several uses and tend to not look as professional as one...

    Silicone Eyes

oh thanks! I actually called the company and talked to the guy about a possible pick-up. He said in a jam it's definitely possible. Our PO Boxes are at the same post office, so they're super nearby. And I really do like their other eyes...just the silicone were mean to me.

    Silicone Eyes

So...I tried out silicone eyes last month. I started to write something here & then it turned into something that resembled a blog post...so.....here's a blog post about it. Whee!

    Question About Braided Hair

after I sew the yarn together--which takes about 35 seconds on a sewing machine (I don't think that it would work to hand stitch it), then sometimes I glue the hair down & sometimes I stitch it down. (just at the top so i can still braid it) It depends on the amount of time I have to get the...

    Question About Braided Hair

For the bangs, could you use 100% wool yarn & then steam them & possibly needle-felt the bangs into place? Wool does felt rather nicely & holds shape pretty well, although I'm not sure how it would work in yarn-form without it being first wet-felted. (I'm thinking of needle-felted bowls & hats...

    The Foam Book

Honestly I don't know how much either one will help you as far as developing patterns. Puppet Planet is more different projects & styles of puppets you can make. Anywhere from sock puppets to a carved foam head. From what I gathered, The Foam Book teaches more of an improvised way of making...
