Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
The Titans' recklessness does them in once again, as their ridiculous spending habits and terrible diets take a toll on their future selves. Only Raven called them out on this, as usual, but to no avail.
The animators sure are getting a lot of mileage out of the Titans' elderly character...
The first new episode in a long time was about Finn getting cheered up over his broken sword by a music contest he got to judge. I especially loved Flame Princess and NEPTR's rap duet, which is fitting as Andy Milonakis did a lot of rapping on that stupid show he had on MTV years back.
Once again, this show can't say "bomb", yet gets away with so many other things like the "West Side" gang signs that Gumball threw down. That makes a whole lotta sense.
Misunderstandings was the theme of last night's episode, with Gumball trying to get to a date with Penny but getting roadblocked by others who want to do something with them. And he couldn't just tell them that he's late for a very important date because there wouldn't be an episode, now would...
I really liked how everything tied together, from the antidote to the giant ear of corn to even the really long straws. And you just gotta love Buttercup's rock cover of the antidote song.
Bryan Cranston will be playing Zordon. He did some voice work for the original show, and was reportedly very popular with the cast, so it's great that he'll be returning. Hopefully we'll get to see at least some of the original actors back, too, even for a brief cameo...
And speaking of milk, there's the "Do Plants" commercial for Silk they've had recently that feels like they're trying way too hard to make plant-based milk all "hip" for the youngsters of today. That talking almond they had before was able to get the point across just fine without sounding...
These Arco commercials with people having wild imagine spots about how great their gasoline is (and their subsequent reaction to others passing by) are just plain idiotic. It would have been kinda endearing if they were little kids, but as adults, they come across as mentally handicapped...
The BFG had an animated film produced by Cosgrove Hall back in 1989, and I'd say it was the most faithful of all the Roald Dahl productions.
The Witches had some great Creature Shop effects and casting (particularly Anjelica Huston as the Grand High Witch), but the overly happy ending as...
As much as The Simpsons has worn out its welcome, I feel that since the switch to HD, the show has gotten a little more watchable to me. Not seasons 2-8 levels of great, but certainly a lot better than when Mike Scully was running things.
I admit, I didn't like Gene as much as the other kids...
I'm amazed that Bob's Burgers has been renewed up to an 8th season, and personally, I'm very glad it has. It's the best animated show on Fox right now, and I give major props to the writers for not making it into a Family Guy clone and use vulgarity & tastelessness as a crutch. That's the very...
He's also got a major part in the upcoming Dreamworks series Trollhunters. Don't know who they're going to recast him with if they're planning to continue it beyond one season.
Anyone see the episode where Irving tries to get his emotionally-distant father (first appearing in the season 2 premiere) to open up with the help of Harvey?
Also, there's the one earlier where Fee tries to be a good big sister to Michele. Seems like she's starting to calm down a little...
Now this is interesting: Here's a blog post that attempted to re-create Mr. Murakami's pizza gyoza recipe. It sure does look delicious! :insatiable:

"Jerky Jasper" continues the trend of UG screwing with Pizza Steve, this time over an imaginary friend that he made up to dodge responsibility. Shows just how far PS is willing to go to keep up a lie.
We also get the 82nd volume of the "Uncle Grandpa Signs the Classics" album in the end. I...
"A New Way to Walk" would be pretty a pretty good idea to remake with the Oinker Sisters again, if only to update the "WALK/DON'T WALK" signage with the current hand and walking man.
That was a fun episode, and was able to go to dark places as this show does best. Needlemeyer's insomnia was especially sad, showing how a guy who takes on many jobs and pushes himself beyond his limits has also compromised his mental health, too, not knowing what's a dream and what's reality...
It was really fun seeing the kids partner up with others to grow plants as part of a school project. I liked how Chad was revealed to have some horticulture skills and fixed up Clarence & Sumo's broken plant with a straw cast. And Kimby even got some extra screen time, with her love of...
