    Questions about anything

Yes. I used to post on here at the library, because it was faster than the old Tracphone I had. Now my phone does everything, I don’t even need a tv anymore.

Got these chicken apple not dogs. Most dogs don’t taste like anything, so you have to put a lot of toppings on them. But these are gre great as they are. Maybe a touch of mustard, that’s all you need.

I haven’t had a computer in ages. The last one I had was an old Compaq a neighbor was getting rid of. Decked out with top-of-the-line Windows 95. Yessir, we’re movin’ now!

The New What Made You Frown Today Thread

I said it before and I’ll say it again. The physical effects of the virus are bad. But the fear it generates is worse. I know it sucks to isolate yourself. But the sooner you can get test d the better off you’ll be. Yes, protect yourself around your parents. But don’t give in to fear. I’m...

Let's see how many replies we can get to this post!

There will come a time when everybody who is lonely will be free to sing and dance and love There will come a time when every evil that we know will be an evil that we can rise above Who cares if your hair is long or short or partly grey You know, that hair ain’t where it’s at. There will...

Silly things you said, did, or thought as a kid

There’s a Sesame clip on YouTube with Fisherman Jones. It talks about on, in, and under. A big fish eats his rowboat and Jones winds up on the fish’s back. At the end he mutters under his breath, “rotten little fishy!” When I was little, I thought he was mumbling, “Wanna ride on the fishy?” In...

    What made you angry today?

There used to be an agency called Hope House. One thing they did was match up different people to share housing and/or expenses. For example, maybe there’s an 80 year old lady that has a spare room. She’d offer you the room, and you help her carry groceries or things like that. Every...

Back in the 80s there was a line of Chipmunk plush dolls, and you can dress them in different outfits . I can’t remember if the clothes were sold separately, but you could dress Alvin as a rock star, baseball player, or a cowboy.

Yes, Toys R Us was having trouble even back then. You wouldn’t know it, because we got paid very well. Great pay, excellent benefits, 401k, we got looked after.. I wasn’t around to see the layoffs and store closings. But for five years they kept me off the streets.

The new What Made You Smile Today thread

I got a little misty eyed remembering my time at Toys R Us. I worked for them from 1999 to 2005. I helped service the giant Times Square store. I got to visit Times Square about 30 times. We had a few big product roll outs. It wasn’t just a store, it was meant to be an experience. There was a...

This came up once before. I believe the vaults are located in the archives of the University of Maryland. Someone (Mario???) was going to pull this big heist.. Never quite pulled it off. Sesame Street was never directly funded by taxes. A big chunk of money came from various foundations (the...

The new What Made You Smile Today thread

I lost a number of baseballs, tennis balls, and super balls that fell in the sewer. That opening is big enough to fit your arm in, but not your whole body. That cast iron grate is way too heavy for a little kid to lift up.

He must have been small to fit through that grate. Or an open manhole.

Bob McGrath and Fred Rogers could have been my tv dads. They both had qualities my own dad severely lacked (patience, sobriety). But to make them surrogate dads is a big stretch and a risky jump. I wish my own dad could have been more like them, but for youngsters that blurs the line between...

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

There’s still so little anybody knows. The RV had a recording warning people to get away. It broke a lot of glass and three people got hurt, but thankfully no one was killed. If it was struly a terrorist act, they could’ve taken out a lot more people. If it as later in the day, more people would...
