SupScoot,
I only saw the DVD, actually. And I DID love that line from Pepe! (I'm a believer of that Dark Side of the Moon trick!) In fact that joke saved Pepe from turning into a one-joke pony (always saying he's sexy, etc).
I think Piggy was my fave part of MWoO. I mean, it wasn't that...
The first one I saw in theatres was The Muppet Movie. I was almost 6 years old. I got the soundtrack for my birthday - The Electric Mayhem is still one of my absolute favourite Muppet things - ever!
I'm not sure if anyone here has hears about it besides you and I. Or should I say... I'm not sure if anyone else from the Festival has heard of this site!
;)
I know what you mean. 3-4 years is a standard wait for theatrical releases. But... made for TV? What's the wait?
America's Next Muppet! Can't wait for that! Only 6 episodes, but still!
...oops.
The auditions held last year were for casting about 60 performers to bring back the Muppets into...
Well I guess that's all subject to opinion. I liked Muppets from Space. I think putting Gonzo up front was a good move. I thought Jeff Trembor & Bobo were great, and the lab rat sequences were cute, too. It was also the last time Frank Oz was in one, and really - it shows.
Well that'd be great, I guess. I don't really watch that show anymore myself, but today's kids deserve the same magic I had watching it for sure. Hearing about that old-school DVD set made me happy though (I'm born in '73).
Yeah, it was a good set. Which is why I want Season 2 yesterday! Who here doesn't? If Henson himself were still around, I'm sure all 5 seasons would have been out by now.
I think it's just a matter of Disney won't do anything better with them, not can't. Of course they could, they're Disney...
You mean on Greivous's ship? Yeah. some shots where he's crashing around - he moves too fast and cartoony. His scale and weight look wrong when they do that - kind of like the 1st Spiderman.
BTW - pardon my ignorance, but what does 'muffining' mean?
You know, you're absolutely right.
It wasn't like Disney aggressively took them over.
They were given up by the Jim Henson Company. Jim's kids sold them down the river, and now the scattered current group of 'Muppeteers' are pretty much at the mercy of the Mouses' casting/writing/marketing...
One of the last projects they did before was IAVMMCM. In my opinion, the direction they were taking on that project could have led tem out of thier slump. Any Post-Henson project where ABC or Disney has had their hooks in it (with the exceptions of MCC and MTI), they seem to miss the mark it as...
