Brian Henson has said that he considered firing Steve long before Disney took ownership of the franchise but for whatever reason didn't go through with it
Perhaps you're right but I'm still not convinced that The Muppets would be better off being owned by Warner Bros considering that their main priority seems to be that they want to compete with Marvel since Warner Bros owns DC comics
Keep in mind that it was Jim's idea for Disney to buy The Muppets Jim was a major Disney fan and he didn't want to do business with anyone else I believe that things would've been better if Jim didn't die
