Sorry intozlight,
I totally meant to respond to this. I think it is best if I wait until the contest is over before looking. Perhaps after the contest you can start up a new thread and post the pictures again. Anyways, I am glad there are others out there passing on their love of pupptery...
Hey intozlight,
Are any of these sock puppets being entered into the contest? If so I will not be able to look at them right now due to conflict of interests (being one of the judges). Please let me (and other judges) know before any of us look.
Thanks.
Hi intozlight,
Great simple pattern to work with. I didn't want my guys to do any sewing this time aound. We just used the hotglue gun. I'd love to see the pictures of your puppet workshop as well. Thanks, the kids were super during the process. Kids are definately fun.
Hey biblebetty,
I totally agree with you. It was tons of fun.
Hi pjpiperhop,
I highly recommend using the Project Puppet patterns. Just remember that I had legal permission to use the pattern in this way. It is important to contact Project Puppet and try to do things the ethical way...
Hey Gabe,
You can always ask, but I must say that they are well worth the money. I had bought some cheaper puppet patterns when I first started to build and they were very limited in what the offered to me as a builder. These I believe are priced very fairly.
I do understand about being...
Hey Gang,
I just finished running a puppet building workshop with a group of 7 to 10 year olds. In the past I have held many workshops with a variety of ages of children. This I feel has been one of the better ones.
I decided to use the Project Puppet patterns with the students for...
I love it!
I envy the amount of time and efficiency that you guys are able to get these puppets made. It must be great to have your brother working with you on getting them all completed. Please let Partick know that I really think the puppet has a strong "hamster essence". Not sure if...
Holy Cow Buck,
That is unbelieveable! I know you keep your hand on the pulse of puppet related things but I have to know, how in the world did you find that out!
I am so curious to know now. :)
Hey great job!
I really like the balding guy with the moustache (he reminds me of my wife's uncle). At first look I thought the girl puppet was a guy with a moustache and a "lip beard", but now I see that they are her lips. What did you cover the puppets with? The fabric reminds me of...
Hey great job Ben!
I am sure you are very proud. Matt and Noreen are amazing builders in their own right. To be included with them says a lot about your building talents. Congrats!
Anyone who wants to see Ben perform live, I highly recommend visiting this years Puppets Up! festival...
Hey thanks bezalel. I just want to point out that the video was not done by me. It is in fact the work of director David Mewa, here in Toronto. He is agreat director and I highly recommend visiting his website.
Thanks for the positive vote Joey. Just a side note. I find that people don't like to go searching for information so links are always helpful.
If anyone is interested here is that link.
Hi mundy,
I guess the question for you is, "What is easier for you? Working with patterns to make 3D shapes, or sculpting?"
They are different techniques altogether. I think you will find it is a very individual answer.
Sorry Buck. I spoke with a woman at the Muppets audition named Terri and I thought she said she had worked with Kids on the Block for many years and that she and some others had volunteered for your Star Wars thing. When I saw a picture of her on your site I believed her. Perhaps I mixed up...
