    Rick "RickRoll" Astley

You worded that perfectly, and I agree. Yes, he rick rolled America in real time! :) That was the greatest, wasn't it? I even saw his name in the opening credits, and heard the host say, "...there is a special musical surprise" as the Foster's float arrived, but STILL didn't realize...silly...

    Rick "RickRoll" Astley

That may be - I'm one of the few who isn't in love with that show  But I think Rick deserves the attention, so I'm glad, since he seems glad. :D Great story! :) I know what you mean, sometimes people get used to the one song and we just can't get them into any other song by the same...

    Rick "RickRoll" Astley

I wrote this in another thread, but I think Rick deserves his own thread, so if anyone would like to discuss the man's music, that'd be great! Here are some links to hear his songs, because when it comes to "pop" music, he's the best! I am not ashamed to admit I like his 80's stuff: 1. Never...

    Underrated music

Great song choice! Rick Astley is the MAN! I want to share some LINKS here for you to hear his songs, because when it comes to "pop" music, he's the best! I am not ashamed to admit I like his 80's stuff: 1. Never Gonna Give You Up 2. Whenever You Need Somebody 3. Take Me To Your Heart 4...

    Underrated music

Rick Astley I CERTAINLY like it as a song! :) I will add that the video is one of the most unique of all time, and great! But the song is the cake, and the video is the icing...

    Overrated Music

Yes, and the thing is, even though DSOTM is not my fave album of theirs, (I have 2 faves, released 16 years apart) even if one finds it "mellow" they can (I would hope) at least see it was unique for it's time...and of course, as far as charting stuff (hits) it still is...it's funny if people...

    Underrated Movies

I'll always prefer the original for it's dark and beautifully strange vibe. That's THE Gremlins movie. It's Gremlins :) But as for Gremlins 2, while I agree that it didn't get as much attention when it was released as Gremins did when it came out, I think most people agree with you these days...

    Remember these toys?

The Robot and "Splat!" I remember fondly :) I thought I was one of the few who knew either or both - to such an extent that I didn't imagine they'd be mentioned here! :super:

What was the last album you bought?

A Captain Sensible LP - he's from The ******, by the way. I see that their name was censored - so I will shed some light on their name - it's another way of saying The Darned. They were the first UK punk band to put out a single and to tour the US, among other firsts...and they're my favorite...

Sesame Beginnings: Muppet Babies or not?

Re: Scooby Glad you brought up "Pup", DrTooth! Notice how that is obviously their first era chronologically ("In universe" that is - sorry if I'm geeking out here, but I'm using terms I've read online from other sites) and yet, they made that movie (made for TV) recently that was supposed to be...

    The Song is Familiar...

Yes, I think the Billy Idol version is one of the most "true-to-the-original" covers of all time. One could argue that songs should be changed up a bit, or don't bother covering...but I can see both sides of that discussion. It is great to change a song while still respecting the original such...

    Flash Beagle soundtrack

Very welcome! Glad I can share it with ya! I agree on liking all the Peanuts - some folks don't like the history lessons, but I do - just not as much as the holiday ones (including new year!), Flash Beagle, and The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show! :) I was suprised at the quality, too! And...

    80's and 90's RULE!

Very cool to read! You may have seen in the "Nickelodeon Petition" thread that I'm alone on the whole "80's is best!" thing - but there is some common ground. Anyway, I agree with you on the eras, and I was going to ask you if Christian rock had better and worse eras as well - though from...

    Nickelodeon Petition

This post and your previous one are exactly right, in my opinion! And these posts have a "fairness for all" theme going...everyone can see some of their favorites with this theory, and no need for us to verbally duke it out. Though I always try my best to explain my reasonings and not sound...

    Nickelodeon Petition

Well, we all know that, but all of us still seem to agree that they used to do it better, whether we prefer the 80's or 90's. I don't think it simply comes down to what we grew up with - today's stuff isn't so great, overall. There are exceptions, of course, I do like certain new shows...

    Nickelodeon Petition

Good call on the 80's cartoons you like, and I agree it can be a bit of a stretch with the whole "here's a kid Popeye never knew about and a few for Pink Panther, too!" - ha. Great to hear you enjoyed the 90's Pink Panther! :) You make good points, and I can't argue with Thundercats! Also, Fat...

    Toy Story 3

I didn't read this thread yet, (just the most recent page) but I loved seeing (My Neighbor) Totoro in it! And for me, ::SPOILER ALERT:: The last stop at the dump, as that apocalyptic music plays, and they all hold hands, ready to die (before they are saved) moved me quite a bit more than...
