The New What Made You Frown Today Thread

That’s what bothers me a little. Parents buy them stuff, and they feel they can destroy them for a goof. Or get attention on YouTube. I understand if kids outgrow things, they don’t want them anymore. But some poor kid that has nothing would appreciate it. And I’ll bet you anything these kids...

Well, the kid needs something to do with his time since he probably doesn’t have a girlfriend. If he didn’t want it, he could give it to Goodwill. Somebody would appreciate it. The closest I’ve ever seen that rolled my eyes, some kid took a Cookie Monster doll and set it on fire. Pointless.

Back in grade school, during the warm months, the ice cream man parked his truck right in n front of school. At 3 pm and five hundred kids could me out, he could hear his cash register going Ka -CHING!!! What a racket. He sold a lot of Good Humor bars, Creamsicles, snow cones, the works. But I...

That was the logic of men who raped women for the longest time. Hey, she was asking for it. She had on a short dress. Doesn’t justify rape.

Mice are smart. The one that got into my pantry last year managed to avoid the traps I set, but made off with the bait. I put a little spoon of peanut butter in each one, but the traps didn’t snap. The little fink. At least it was just one mouse. Usually if you see one, there’s more...

I don’t know if they still make them, but back in the 80s there was this thing called a Chipwich. Vanilla ice cream between two chocolate chip cookies, then rolled in more chocolate chips. I never really cared for ice cream sandwiches. The cookie part was always kinda mushy, and the ice cream...

Made Sloppy Joes today. With Manwich. Someone posted a meme with its new label “Gender neutral person”wich. Another day for Wokeness. Actually, around here, go into any Jewish deli, and a Sloppy Joe is turkey and ham on rye with Swiss cheese, cole slaw, and Russian dressing. Close cousin to a...

The boring part is when you’re in the big public room with five hundred others Also, bring something to eat with you. They might serve coffee, but that’s it. And when you’re in the courtroom, you have to be on your best behavior. You don’t need to wear a suit, but don’t go looking like you just...

Like I said, I’ve been called for jury duty six times over fifteen years. Three of my bosses excused me and gave me paid time off. They felt since it’s so rare to get called, they wanted me to serve without worrying about missing work. Alex, mouthing off to a judge to try to get out of jury...

    COVID-19 Coronavirus News and Updates

People thought it was “safe” to go unmasked when they were rioting last summer. Nobody criticized that. Even with people wearing masks and socially distancing, Luke we have for the past year, and with more people getting vaccinations, many Democratic governors still want to keep lockdowns going...

    Questions about anything

I know a lot of people think of jury duty as an inconvenience. Giving up a day of work to go somewhere you really don’t want to be. I think of it as my civic duty, like voting and paying taxes. And if I was on trial, I wouldn’t want jurors with an attitude of “Aw, let’s just find this guy...

Two things. The jury can’t deliver a verdict unless it’s unanimous. At higher courts the rules are different. In Appellate Court the verdict is by majority. If you don’t serve this time, you’ll be called again in the next three years. If you’re in school, the judge will probably let you go.

    Questions about anything

I’ve been called for jury duty six times, served on three juries. You show up the day you’re called. There will probably be about five hundred people there. Depending on how busy the court is that day, you might not have to stay. They might say numbers 1-250 stay, 251-500 go home. So it depends...

More often than not, the BK shake machine broke down, especially when I worked there. Way back when Ray Kroc sold shake mixers to the McDonald brothers (thus creating fast food history), shakes were made with milk and ice cream. At BK, the shakes were made from this prefab powder. God only...

All the more reason you should get your money back. If they still won’t, copy this when you report to the BBB. If this company has any sense, they won’t want this to escalate. But this points more in your favor.

Wait a minute. You found out where the error lay, and it’s on their part, you’re still entitled to get your money back. I wouldn’t walk away from this. I’d write one more professional email, and if they don’t resolve it, contact the BBB. You are 100% in the right. It was her mistake you didn’t...

Like I said, this is what the Better Business Bureau is for. It’s in their best interest to make you satisfied than to have a negative rating. it’s one thing for someone to go on Yelp and say they had a bad experience. A complaint from the BBBsays you mean business.
