Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

To be fair, MPR was based on the book sequels that P.L. Travers refused to allow Walt Disney to adapt, which explains the spiritual successor Bedknobs & Broomsticks. And I give them major credit for using hand-drawn animation for the chalk drawings like the first film as opposed to the same...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

Bumblebee now has the lowest opening of the Bayformers movies so far at around $21 million, sitting at 3rd place behind Aquaman and Mary Poppins Returns. No doubt these will still be a thing because of the People's Republic, but it's nice to know that Yanks are getting sick of them. :)...

West Nile, Swine Flu, Meningitis, and Sequelitis

Funnily enough, there is a real Titanic sequel, albeit by those good folks at The Asylum, and with a totally different plot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanic_II_(film)

    The "You know what?" thread

And most importantly, it's from the same studio that would eventually give us ReBoot and Beast Wars. :)

    RIP Penny Marshall

She was also the voice of the "Babysitter Bandit" Ms. Botz in The Simpsons episode "Some Enchanted Evening", a.k.a. the episode that was intended to be the first to air but almost got cancelled because of its hideous animation during development. Also, she directed the Tom Hanks movie Big.

    Questions about anything

Just what are elephant spokes anyway? Are they like a size of spoke that goes on a bicycle wheel?

    The Sonic the Hedgehog Thread

At least Detective Pikachu proportionately resembles his video game counterpart, and admittedly looks kinda cuddly. Plus, they hired the guy who made a series of realistic Pokemon fan art, which is pretty awesome. https://kotaku.com/realistic-pokemon-artist-got-a-job-on-the-detective-p-1830396116

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

Well, at least he has a great singing voice. Though I would have preferred it if he sang the songs like this. :D

    Muppet Film and TV References

The latest South Park episode titled "Buddha Box" references the Muppet Babies theme, specifically the reboot theme, with the PC Babies.

    RIP Stephen Hillenburg

This is so freaky. I watched Mr. Enter's latest Animated Atrocities video about a SpongeBob episode yesterday, and then this happens.

    The New New Quote Thread

Actually, it's more like "Oh my God, it's Chris Hansen!" (blows brains out)

    The Oh-So-Permanent Thanksgiving Thread

The Barenaked Ladies weren't lip-synching, or at least they sounded like it.

    The Oh-So-Permanent Thanksgiving Thread

I only bought turkey breasts like I did last year, as we would have way too much left over otherwise. Though I don't think we'll have enough for turkey noodle soup. :(

    The "You know what?" thread

TTG seems more like a spiritual successor to MAD, seeing as how it shares a lot of the same writing team and love of making pop culture references, as opposed to making fun of DC's mythology itself.

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

And considering that even WGBH doesn't air it as often anymore according to Drtooth many years ago, that's a good sign.

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

That's why I'm thankful for distributors like GKIDS, which specializes in promoting 2D and stop-motion films from around the world, a few of which have gotten Oscar nominations. I'm hoping that Hullabaloo and Dragon's Lair Returns go with them for distribution rights.

    YouTube Poops

This 10-year-old poop still remains a favorite of mine, mainly because of how well it aged. :D

    Animated Hotties?

I gotta admit, Rosita from Sing is a winning combo: a curvy pig with a bubbly personality who can really rock a leotard. Plus, she's a mom of several piglets, so she's maintained a great figure over the years. Piggy Power indeed. :D And speaking of hot moms, I also admit that Evelyn from...

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

Especially in Canada. Well, really ToonBoom Harmony is the standard software, and Flash (the software) has changed its name to Animate now that Flash (the plugin) is on life support.
