Awesome. I love Sir Didymus, he was probably the most amazing high tech hand puppet ever built with all those remote control facial features and stuff like that. I'm still amazed and would like to know how the Creature Shop did that. Spitting Image from what I've read wanted to do that kind to...
Thanks. I haven't seen that in years. I love the teeth, it kind of reminds me of what Spitting Image did with their Wham parody where they had puppets of "Teeth, Lips, Hair..." Ugh, I'm still trying to find that Mystery Science Theater 3000 parody where a farmer and pig are running around the...
I've had people tell me the same thing about my artwork. It's too wacky. But in my opinion, there's no such thing as too wacky. But that's just me. For example me and my best friend love silly slapstick but when I show him Monty Python's Flying Circus in all it's weird wackiness. He's just...
It's quite possible that the Jim Henson Muppet Workshop (or Puppet workshop / Creature Shop division now a days) probably fixed it up for the employee that it was originally given too. I knew someone who started a puppet museum and Jim Henson gave the very Scooter that was used in one of the...
Yeah I remember seeing some Monster Club house bits. That was probably the best thing I've seen in the somewhat current episodes. The ending theme to it is really funny. Their goodbye song and I think it zooms into one of the monster's months. I like Kevin's character, the monster who talks...
I was enjoying some really funny clips like The 2 headed monster driving a car into a brick wall demonstrating Seat belts, A couple of Grover and Mr. Johnson sketches, Dr. Nobel Price, etc. But this one bot be cracking up like crazy before heading to bed last night.
I'm a huge Ernie and Bert...
True, however I have seen some rare Muppet / Henson props that were possibly given to an employee who probably gave it to someone in which they sold on eBay. I've seen someone sell an actual Fraggle from Fraggle Rock, a background Fraggle. I've seen a warn out Doozer and a disintegrating Miss...
They sure look like great figures and I'd love to own them some day. Though what I noticed is a lot of the figures are kind of modeled from the old Palisades figures. I would like it if the Palisades figures would return. I'm not sure if the original molds for the figures exist but I just loved...
Anyone hear the rumor that the pre-show was going to be remade for Muppet Vision 3D. That's not going to happen, is it? I hope not, I thought the pre-show was great and I think it was one of the last times Richard Hunt performed Scooter.
It's interesting how people look at Dr. Suess' work because there's some that are quite political like The Lorax and others.
I think I'm going to do some more research on this because I'm very fascinated with political satire in cartoons. I still need to get Dr. Suess goes to War, a collection...
Then again, simular warnings are on the DVD box sets of Classic Looney Tunes, Tex Avery, Tom and Jerry, and Popeye. I didn't see that warning on my Three Stooges DVD. Perhaps it's the stereotypical thought that some parent thinks that all puppetry and animation is for kids so perhaps it's a...
Still there are some really great philosophical messages as well as symbolizes of politics like the book with the birds with stars, the butter battle book, even the Lorax since Thermador Gisele did political satire before he did children's books. :)
I just wanted to note just in general...
There's a disclaimer on the Old School DVD box sets? Where's it at? I don't think I've seen the disclaimer. I would think the format style and target audience went to a more younger age due to educational research and stuff like that. Because they would need to present every new episode to it's...
I'm a big fan of the show. I remember watching it every Sunday night about about 7:30pm or so on Nickelodeon. It was quite unite with the combination of puppetry and chroma key graphic backgrounds through out. Even though some of the graphics looks a bit primitive compaired to todays standards...
Oh yes, I knew that. Though my question was regarding how come on Sesame Street Merchandise, even in the 1980s it would say "Muppets Inc." Even though the company changed their name to Henson Associates since the 1970s.
I'm not quite sure if this is the right place to have this thread but I figure I put it here mainly because it's related to Sesame Street. I noticed this for a long time. Usually Muppets Inc. was the name for the company until the mid 1970s when it became Henson Associates, and by 1989 it became...
I agree on both ends on this. It is definitely a subject matter which doesn't make me feel comfortable seeing in a movie. But yeah, Frank is very cleaver. It depends on how it's done. I personally liked What About Bob and Death at a Funeral, and I hope it's just as good. :)
