    2011 Winnie the Pooh Movie

Yorick, I don't think that there is reason to be concerned. 2D animation is still around. Its been established that Disney is NOT turning its back on hand-drawn animation. As you noted, The Princess and the Frog was released just last year, and of course the Winnie the Pooh film being released...

    E-mail for Muppet Show DVD seasons 4 & 5

Today I contacted Disney.com asking them when season 4 of The Muppet Show will be released. In the past I have always gotten some sort of response to questions I have had. It may not always be what I want to hear, but I do always get a response.

New Pics: Jason Segel and the Muppets at the L.A. movie set

Yes, that's true, and I agree. It was great for a while....Then it went south. Thankfully, quality is now top priority again!

I want to add that even though things are looking good right now and I'm glad that the the Muppet Show characters are with Disney, I am VERY glad that Disney does NOT own the Sesame Street characters. The Sesame Street characters deserve to live on forever on public television. :wisdom:

As I understand it... by 2004, Eisner probably did think of the Muppets as just a trophy. Although that's just something I have read, I'm not sure how accurate it is. Still, it is telling that things didn't start getting better for the Muppets (and the Walt Disney Company in general) until...

I agree. Generally speaking, the Walt Disney Company has been much better since Eisner left. I know I keep mentioning this, but one of the best things is that John Lasseter is chief creative officer at Disney Animation in addition to Pixar. He is also principal creative adviser at Walt Disney...

In all seriousness, the idea of the difference between "negative" and "realistic" intrigued me, so I looked them up; Negative: the 6th meaning is "lacking in constructiveness, helpfulness, optimism, cooperativeness, or the like: a man of negative viewpoint." (Most closely related to this...

New Pics: Jason Segel and the Muppets at the L.A. movie set

By the way... Does anyone think its possible that next year we will finally see that Muppets Halloween special? After all, by November/October 2011 they should theoretically be done with principal photography on the movie, and having a Halloween special air in October 2011 would be a great way...

No offense, but at this point I do believe that is the most ridiculous thing that you have ever said. :o

    Anyone going to see Tangled?

Exactly. An ideal animated film should have both a strong story, and top-notch animation.

Yup. Which is why was disappointed that none of Elmo in Grouchland was actually filmed outdoors. :(

    Anyone going to see Tangled?

Well, its important to remember that Walt Disney loved using new technologies. Keeping that in mind, I don't think that its fair to expect Disney Animation to ONLY make hand-drawn films, that would be imposing a specific animation medium on the studio. Disney Animation is very unique now in...

    Anyone going to see Tangled?

Just remember; Gnomeo and Juliet is only being released by the Touchstone banner and was made by Starz Animation. The good news is that Disney Animation had NOTHING to do with the making of the film. Their hands are clean.

    Anyone going to see Tangled?

The trailer for Cars 2 was hard for you to sit through? Sheesh, have a heart. :( To put a Pixar film like Cars 2 in the same group as The Smurfs and Yogi Bear movies is just insulting! The trailers for Smurfs and Yogi Bear are bad and hard to watch because they are taking beloved...

    Cars 2

Good to hear. And that message in Cars is exactly what I was trying to explain in another thread a few months ago. These days it pays to be optimistic about both Disney and Pixar animation.

That's fine with me. I just made a thread because I wasn't sure where this should go, plus, I wanted people to pay attention to it. ;):coy:
