    Last movie you watched

Oh yes that was another great scene. Chief Brody, played by Roy Scheider, was that dude on the beach. :) Really neat tense music that played as the camera zoomed in on his horrified expression, too.

    Favorite Cookie Monster Sketch

I remember that one also. It was from the 70's. I would guess more like 1975 than 69-74 though. That's about my earliest memory of it. Remember the music that plays until Cookie says 'Share"? A violin solo, as Sesame Mike mentioned about this sketch a while back in another Cookie Monster thread.

    Last movie you watched

Jaws, great movie there. Lots of great lines from that movie, superbly acted by the three leads, and,of course, an unforgetable and awesome John Williams dihdih dihdih dihdih dihdih music theme for the shark. One thing I love to do every time i watch this movie is pause the scene where we get a...

    "The Pizza Man" film

HaHa yes, I too got hungry talkin' about this segment earlier today. :) Your comment, fuzzygobo, about watching the men make the pizzas in New York City through the outside window reminded me of that hilarious "I Love Lucy" episode where Lucy took a job making pizza. Remember how she had...

Your Favorite Cartoons on Sesame Street

Yes I think it was FAT ones and tall ones, not FAST ones and tall ones! Thanks for that, that makes more sense. And Wordsworth sounds correct too.

    Big Bird on Mr. Rogers

Just wanted to say that I did tape and watch Mr. Rogers again today to see Lynn Swann. It was neat how Mr. Rogers began the show by showing a montage of football clips that had dazzling catches by Lynn. He then went to a ballet school in Pittsburgh on location (as he often did since he lived...

    Fave Book?

I'm an avid reader so to make a list of my favortie books would be quite extensive. But to say which is my one favorite? The Bible. And I love its author. ;) Just for a few other examples though, I like books by Charles Stanley, Stephen King, and "The Hooterville Handbook: A Viewer's Guide...

    MC Love

Ewww, first I do the post about the classic pizza clip on SS and develop a big desire for some pizza. Now I read this and suddenly my appetite is gone again! Heh Heh

How's the weather where you are?

Alright RedBoobergurl time for our Thursday weather report :) It's a little warm here in Philadelphia (82) going up to about 85. There was some more rain this morning and a chance of rain this afternoon again. It's very humid. Tomorrow thorugh Sunday, however, they are still calling for...

    "The Pizza Man" film

Yeah this was another one that had fun music to listen to (like the ball rolling on the chrome tracks that I brought up yesterday. :) ). Sesame Mike made an interesting observation in a thread he did about films with dual soundtracks: He cited this pizza clip as an example: Mmmboy...

"The Geeful and the Gonk" (co-operation)

Jerry Nelson definitely did the gonk. I brought this one up back in May in post number four . I had incorrectly remembered gonk as gop! I also had always wondered if he said "sharing" at the end. That would fit better with cooperation. However, it sure sounded more like he said, "Shirley".

    Big Bird on Mr. Rogers

I'm definitely with you on wishing for older SS shows, Daffyfan, as I'm sure a lot of people are. I think one reason the Mr. Rogers shows go back to 1980 is because I remember hearing he only made about 15 new shows a year. So if they only showed 90's shows they would repeat too much. I recall a...

    SS books.

Check out this article from toughpigs. It includes this sentence: "Before Sesame Street ever debuted on the air, CTW signed a contract with Time-Life Inc for the production of five "authorized" hard-cover volumes -- the Sesame Street Books of Numbers, Letters, Puzzles, Shapes, People and Things."

    SS books.

Interestingly I was just posting about the jazzy spies/ race car number counting skits yesterday and remarked about how someone said in one of the threads that ebay sometimes has a book from 1970 "The Sesame Street book of numbers" that has illustrations of every one of these skits. Now I'm not...

New Electric Company TV Show and DVD

That's what I thought. It never dawned on me before that there weren't any little JonJons or Sharlas on TEC like there were all the time on SS. Here's another one: Rememeber a guy laying out on a lounge chair and they sang a song with all these S words like, "See Sam", "See Sam sit", "See Sam...

New Electric Company TV Show and DVD

How about the song by Rita Moreno "Don't bring those things". She was a teacher standing up front and there was about 3 kids in the classroom! And I think they could have been adults (or teens) playing kids [Say, did TEC ever have any actual elementary school age children on the show?]. She was...

Your Favorite Cartoons on Sesame Street

As Orville said to Wilbur, you're right (Wright). Yeah that seems to be one that has stuck in people's memory quite well. Boy seems like there were quite a few telephone ones on SS. Earlier I had thought of the cartoon where telephone was the t word of the day, there's this one, there's that...

New Electric Company TV Show and DVD

Don't recall that Hinnant one but that was funny when the adults would play children characters. And not sure if I recall that specific easy reader one but one I saw a lot was when she says, "Easy reader!" excitedly and he says, "Sylvia!" and then she goes, "haha!". Then they sing something...

    My parent's anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to them. 20th is very special. As I said before here, my parents would have celebrated their 40th this past July. But my mother had her 15th this year with my step dad. And her best friend is celebrating the big 50th anniversary this weekend.
