Oh I agree with you. Just was speculating if SS were still airing old clips today if they would not show that one for that reason. But if I was making the decision I would have no problem airing it at all. By the way, up until SS stopped showing any older clips just a few years ago that other...

    Fave user?

I think that's a good thought, Bear. Because at that other thread I think it's clear to people that someone is expressing some appreciation/admiration etc. for a specific person(s) for a specific reason or recent occurence, whereas in this thread the problem is that no matter how many people get...

Hey that's a pretty cool idea! But probably a little too expensive! Then again, if not too many trick or treaters come (last year was zero!) then it would be fine. Maybe I should get a couple. Then again, once a kid gets tic tacs it might get around, "Go to that guy's house! He gives you tic...

    Fave user?

Thankyou so much! And in view of my signature and in view of Halloween upon us, I changed my avatar. Now I really AM sweet, eh? heeheehee. :flirt:

    Happy Halloween Dudes!!

Just thought I'd mention I caught on tv earlier this week "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (on ABC, I think). I'm glad they still show all those old holiday classics (like at Christmas time showing the Peanuts Christmas special where Charlie Brown gets a tree that's too small and Linus...

    Remember this commerical?

How about that great catchy music every time they would show a commercial for an upcoming Harlem Globetrotters basketball game? And I saw the Globetrotters at an arena in 1984. They made some pretty dazzling shots and plays. The seats were pretty far away, however, so it marred the fun slightly.

How's the weather where you are?

Well no wonder it's going to be 60's and near 70 on Sunday and Monday here, RedBoobergurl! Glad Minnesota is sending that our way. :) In the meantime today was another chilly 51F, 11C and Saturday will be too. Nice sleeping weather, though. :) Had Wendy's burger and fries for dinner. Too...

    Sesame Street films

Thanks fuzzygobo. I was real fuzzy on the details of this one besides the ending. That really is a hilarious line that kid said (Although SS maybe wouldn't want to air the clip in today's times due to the Oklahoma City bombing, 911, etc. I don't think there should be any problem, but some...

Thanks so much, D'Snowth and Prawnie. You guys would certainly make my list too. And most definitely would you too, superfan! You're a wonderful person and fantastic poster.

    The Flintstones

Oh yeah I have been a HUGE Flintstones fan ever since toddlerhood. The Flintstones and Tom and Jerry are my two favorite cartoons of all time. Just like SS, I heavily watched The Flintstones as a child. By the way, here's a post I made back in May regarding that: And whenever I've caught...

Do you ever feel ashamed for liking Sesame Street?

I see I almost pulled a ziffel on janicegroupie! But she wisely used the quote feature for quoting Mrs. Pepper so it wasn't a break in the pattern of thought after all. Nicely done.

Do you ever feel ashamed for liking Sesame Street?

And actually, GeeBee, if classic SS comes on dvd some day I'm sure we would be so excited and that it would definitely come up in conversation to people. I've told people outside here about the upcoming "The Electric Company" dvds and haven't felt embarrassed. Heck, it's even aimed at adults who...

    Sesame Street films

No that's the ending of the classic "b is for bubble" skit, Mike. :) This one was a different sketch and I don't think had any singing. This little girl at the end put piece after piece of gum in her mouth. Then the line about if she puts any more gum in her moth she could blow up!

Do you ever feel ashamed for liking Sesame Street?

The makers of SS always knew parents would be watching along with their children too and thus included many things that adults would get and chuckle at. And for us adults now, we not only can enjoy those things but also enjoy the nostalgia of the things we loved as a small child. It's great...

    What does your name mean?

We know what Ziffel means ----> posting just before someone else posts and they don't realize it happened until they submitted! haha Well it came up with Signal Channel Objective Tactical Terminal. Hmmm, could it be I am associated with rocket science and the like?

    Remember this commerical?

How about the jolly green giant who went "Ho Ho Ho" at the end? Just saw this article about how the guy who did that voice for years just died at age 80.

New Electric Company TV Show and DVD

Wow we have forgotten to post about probably the most well known and popular thing from TEC --> The animated sketch with the plumber and the parrot! (Parrot is shown inside of house near front door and he squawks. Then a man approaches the outside of the door and knocks.) Parrot: Who is it...

    Sesame Street films

Remember one time a little girl was chewing bubblegum? Can't recall if it was a segment about blowing bubbles (not the classic 'b is for bubble' sketch). At the end though, this girl kept opening gum wrappers and putting the gum in her mouth. Someone off screen said something like, "If she puts...

Guest Stars on Sesame Street list

I remember that phone booth segment with him and the little kid. I remember him walking into the booth where the kid was and saying, "Oh, excuse me" and then going to the next booth. Didn't know it was Rosey Grier, though. Rosey's football career was before my time and I never really saw him too...

what classic number segments can you remember?

I don't know if it was the same kid because I don't have real clear memory on the number five segment (it seems like it was the least frequent one I saw, besides the number one segment. The five 'whatever they are's is about my only vivid memory). But I recall very clearly the way the boy said...
