    Cookie Monster head pattern

Yikes! I wouldn't bother tracking down a McCall's pattern....Good for something to do with the kids but not for a nice replica. I made my own pattern for a cookie monster body. I'm going to hang on to it ;)

    My first Marionette

Thanks, that's very kind. You're a 16 yr old referencing the Ed Sullivan show? Your folks must be hardcore Muppet fans and have taught you well! :)

Looking for Dr. Phil Van Neuter. Replica puppet

I don't think you're going to get a good replica for 'a cheap price'. Good replicas are anywhere from $800 - $3000 or more!! If you can't swing that, maybe try making your own but don't take it too seriously for your first one. You will likely make more than one and you will learn something new...

    The Foam Book

My Mother shipped me 'the foam book, DVD edition' for my birthday. I've watched it one time through and I'd say it's an excellent resource for someone looking to start building some puppets. Texturizing fur.......questions!

Floral acrylic paints or chalk shot with hairspray are some other way that I've just found out about too. I can't stink up the air where I build my puppets....it's a common family area in the basement over here.

Enter the Cookie Monster..... a build for fun.

I ended up stuffing some foam inside the eyes. It has helped a lot and whatever is left over is tolerable. Come to think of it, I don't really even notice it anymore.

    My first Marionette

Someone was desperately seeking a marionette for her kid for Christmas so I offered to make her one. It was my first and I sure didn't charge enough but I really enjoyed the build. Sorry that I don't have build pics, it had to get built sooner than later. Here's a demo video:

    Texturizing fur.......questions!

Thanks for the responses ashkent and Buck-Beaver. Another question floating around in my head is what type of paint do you use on a fleeced puppet? For example, say you wanted to add blush on cheeks? I figure you'd apply it with a sponge? I don't have an air brush so that's out the window! ;)
