Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
At one time i may have agreed but while Joan used to be comic gold throughout a lot of her career, she's really become embarrassingly unfunny as she's aged - to the level where you just are left watching her and left shaking your head.
Not to discourage our Obsessed Muppet Fandom or anything, but as someone who's studied voice i would say be very careful with this. Muppet impressions (whether speaking or singing) are fun but if you're serious about actually improving singing ability, i wouldn't reccomend this as a primary...
It's always exciting when a minor character like The Newsman gets time on the big screen!
And liking Kathy Griffin. She was one of the few cameos in MFS that i loved!
Wouldn't make this joke if we did lose him, but since we know he's okay for now i'll say it...
When the sad time comes when we do lose Gerry, Obsessed Muppet Fans the world over will cry out, "Doc gone!"
(first thing that popped in my head when i saw this thread's title!)
I love this - seems like such a no-brainer but i think you're the first to raise this idea...several months before the movie comes out, Walter should get real involved with the Muppet fandom community - i can also see him posting Youtube video responses to clips the same way Statler & Waldorf...
I will be furious if they leave 4 Seasons unreleased - at least pay tribute to Langridge by letting fans see his last Muppet stuff; give it its proper farewell! I could care less if it's delayed or we have to wait a while for it, but please allow it a proper sendoff.
Either way, Boom's...
Since Dinosaur Train doesn't get talked about a lot on the forum, thought i'd pipe up with some DT love - it took a while for them to roll out a lot of new episodes when they first debuted but now that most of the original run of episodes have aired, i just wanted to throw out that -
THIS IS...
I'm thinking if SW does take a cue from this and does something similar with SST - it would obviously be more expensive than most fans could afford to get a lot of episodes but i have an idea.
If SST comes up with a make-on-demand dvd option, fans could organize a club or email tree where...
I really loathe that C is For Cookie cover - it looks like Baby Cookie Monster.
Back to the film, i was thinking of the cameos and had some thoughts...
We need to get Candace Bergan as a cameo guest in one of the Muppet Movies - both her parents have had a turn after all!
We have people...
Getting caught up on forum reading and just read this entire thread. Some various thoughts on recurring themes here...
A lot of people know how i feel about posers vs real Muppets. Hey they're great for getting some types of shots you can't easily otherwise get but the Muppets have become...
Am on umemployment now - and it's a very (pretty insulting) small amount - not enough to cover my rent even if i don't use it for anything else. Job market is so bad right now that for the last few weeks the help wanted section of the paper has been in large print to fill up the page! Major...
Don't have one here but just wanted to wish you luck on your search and please update us if you find one and your son's reaction! (Given Herry's more recent obscurity that's wonderful that he's your son's favorite!)
When i was a kid i had all the commercially released hand puppets (there...
Thanks for sharing this. It's great to see The Muppets on a few most anticipated lists but to see it not only on Ain't It Cool's list but also the top of it is a special honor that says volumes. AICN is pretty well regarded as an excellent barometer of what the general public will love.
...your pickup line on someone you're attracted to is "HEY YOO - MA VROO BE?"
(You know the object of your affection is also an Obsessed Muppet Fan if this leads to a Galleo Hoop Hoop)
I know i'm coming to this thread late in the game but wanted to throw something out there.
I think when it comes to puppet versions of the Muppets/Fraggles, the modern Muppet fandom community has gotten a bit spoiled by the replica poser puppets from Master Replicas and EFX and also by the...
Since i haven't posted in this thread, i'm offering this as an observer (also as someone who was once a moderator of this forum before "real life" kept me from being able to be that active)
One of the major problems with discussions of religion in general (whether it be in this forum or other...
Kevin played Sam in VMX but it's been Eric Jacobson since. Clifford was last seen in MWOO (and if memory serves, Kevin looped the lines) and does seem semi-retired (sadly) due to Kevin's pretty much full time job with almost all aspects of SST.
Hoots is an interesting one. Kevin doesn't do...
That's pretty much it. Kevin is pretty much "Mr. Sesame Street" - being the ubiquitous Elmo not only takes up much of his time but considering all the other behind-the-scenes stuff he does in regards to Sesame: directing, producing, training, international meets - the guy's pretty booked...
