What if the New Muppet Movie's Villain had a Muppet Sidekick?

If it turns out that the character Cooper was referring to is indeed UD, than that could be a neat use of Muppet history - Cooper's interested in the theatre...UD has long history (predating the rest of the Muppet gang) with the theatre - those initial reports of Bobin looking over Segal's...

When we got to see The Movie (identifying ourselves as Muppet Freaks)

When we go to see The Movie (identifying ourselves as Muppet Freaks) Part of the excitement of the 2011 movie for many of us and certainly myself will not only be the film itself but the experience of seeing it in the theatre with others. Unless something like work schedules and the like...

    Your Muppet mistakes

Well i've literally been a Muppet Freak since i was a baby (seriously - my parents definately noticed how strongly i responded to them pretty much right away) so lots of my mistakes were due to my young age along with the "newness". But some i remember are originally thinking Fozzie's name...

What Surprises Will The Film Hold?

I fully expect this to be Easter Egg filled. Think one of the Muppet Show Comic Books onscreen with the visual references. But speaking of "surprise", i just hold onto hope that there ARE still surprises by the time it's November - between all the various tidbits and spoilers and what will...

2011 Muppet Movie plot officially announced

In one semi-recent interview with Jason, he said they had about a month left to go on it.

New Pics: Jason Segel and the Muppets at the L.A. movie set

Yes, that's what i was referring to in my last post - i wasn't doubting Deadly was in the movie, just that based on what was thrown out in the article that it can't be 100% confirmed that that's what his role in the movie actually was.

New Pics: Jason Segel and the Muppets at the L.A. movie set

I'd have to put that in the "maybe" category. The description of the Muppet does fit Deadly's but he also calls it a "new Muppet" and doesn't refer to him by name. Always possible it is Deadly and CC doesn't know Muppet history but it's still wait-and-see on that one.

First look (video) of the new movie!

I picked up on that too. Thog's always been one of the largest but look at how much he seems to tower over Sweetums. May be a trick of the angle or something or perhaps something might throw it off underneath like he's standing on a higher plane or something but yeah - he does seem larger than...

First look (video) of the new movie!

Man o man, it does my Muppet Freak heart good to see so many minor/obscure puppets there - especially when you KNOW quite a few had to be rebuilt/refurbished. And the fact that Disney actually took the time and expense to rebuild Thog (who will probably never be real heavily featured) just...

    Jim Henson's Red Book

If i'm not mistaken, Theodore was an alternate name for Chicken Liver. Yeah, writers' names usually appear on scripts for longer things like films or television show episodes, but for something like the S&F sketch and Ed Sullivan appearance, given that it's a less-than-five-minute routine and...

    Cappadocia, Turkey: Real-Life Fraggle Rock

Sounds like a plan! Then we can go outside and ask the nearest compost heap/pile of leaves/garbage can/piece of litter for advice.

Glenda Jackson 'cold open' Ep. 507

Whatever works to create the illusion! As Brian Henson put it so elequently when summing up the art of Muppetry: "Every shot is a special effect". You can add Don Knotts to the list of guests who "helped" with the movement when he's handling the fuzzy creature.

How CAN You Get to Sesame Street Anymore?

Heck, i'm still trying to figure out the answer to Bert's question from seven years ago: "How do I get out of Elmo's World?"

D23 Expo: Muppet news and happenings

Hmmm...so if there were ever another kind of Muppetfest or fan convention/gathering, maybe it would be called M55?

    Official Henson Podcast

Some of this you may have already done (i can only access from the library so i'm a bit behind on all the podcasts) More on Hot Dog TV. How many were made/will there be more...i only ever caught two of them. I'd love to hear an interview with (or feature on) Jane Henson as a puppeteer...

    Show of hands, please.

For me, it's not even a question of being "Elmo-free" (Elmo was actually a really great fun character who was a delight to watch during the 80's/early 90's) but just being able to see arguably the best of Sesame Street - what i think of as their "golden era" when everything just worked together...

    Questions that Need Answers!

That one moment of Rizzo being voiced by Dave was something i was almost going to mention in my last post - that every now and then on rare occasion there are moments when the substitute performer voices the character on set with the real performer dubbing in lines later where they accidentally...

    Questions that Need Answers!

1.'s been pretty well covered. Depends on where the production's being done and more recently which entity owns the Muppets. Disney's Muppets currently done by Puppet Heap (whereas before typically in either the New York or London workshop), Sesame Muppets in the New York workshop and Creature...

    Questions that Need Answers!

There's no "set way" - the way such a scene is handled is just based on what works best due to any number of logistics. Sometimes the dialog is prerecorded - this dates back to the Sam and Friends days when Jim did ALL the voices (that is when they weren't lip syncing to records by other...

New Pics: Jason Segel and the Muppets at the L.A. movie set

Of course that's the thing with cameos or any kind of guest - by using them, you may get their fanbase brought to the audience that may not have otherwise watched but every celeb also has people that don't like them to. Of course a lot of times when people don't like someone they may be judging...
