Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Yeah, I understand him being an obscure Muppet and all but I just meant within the actual world of the show. You do bring up a good point about not knowing the name of everyone in your building though. I guess I just feel like 'it's the Muppets', a big family: you would think they would all know...
Rowlf biting his stitches... genuinely funny.
I kind of sensed a bit of a Michael-Dwight thing between Kermit and Fozzie, but by the end it actually felt like a good, equal relationship.
What is with everyone saying "Who are you?" to everyone, especially to Chip? I kind of got the impression...
Like would Jim have approved of this image?
To me it's kind of awkward. Don't get me wrong, it's better than the Zoot "joke", but it's just weird. I have no problem with the Muppets dabbling in adult humor, but at least let it be tasteful and genuine. Jim would've done it right; he knew quality.
I agree with all of that. It's like they have this goal of making sure each Muppet gets at least one line in every episode, which I guess is good, but I don't even think they have to make Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie and Gonzo the main characters of every episode because this show has the rare liberty...
Yeah. For everyone arguing "Jim would've wanted it this way", and blah blah blah, I don't really see why it matters, but Jim didn't strike me as a Beavis and Butthead-type guy.
The issue with the Zoot joke was not that it was adult-oriented humor, or really child-oriented humor (because that's what it really was), but that it was the dumbest "joke" in the world.
And the second episode being reminiscent of The Simpsons to me now makes sense since there are writers from...
The thing about Fozzie taking the souvenir was when he initially took it, it didn't seem bad or anything; like I thought he put it under his hat as just a place to put it (seeing how he doesn't have pockets or anything), with no bad intentions. It was understandable because the Muppets kind of...
This episode was really good, but uhm, why was Zoot drawing a 'you-know-what' in Sweetum's birthday card? It seemed a little bit like forced adult humor just to get the point across. I thought that was going to foreshadow a lame episode, but it turned out that that was the dumbest joke in the...
The pilot was a bit of a mixed bag for me, but it was more good than bad.
It was almost a case too many guest stars in one episode. I feel like none of them got to be appreciated properly, like it was just too much going on in one episode with them trying to establish everything, but it seems...
