That is sad. When I saw that 'Remembering Carroll Spinney' post, I thought it just had to do with his retirement. I didn't know he was gone for good. Well, it was nice that he appeared as himself in the 50th Anniversary Special. That was good to see. Also good to know that with Matt and Eric...
Yeah. I was confused too. That would be like saying Big Bird as Fozzie Bear or something. Lol.
So Ryan used to post here? Was this before he started playing Elmo? If so that might 'splain why he hasn't been around of late. He might have his hands full playing one of the world's most popular...
Well, if we're thinking Muppets Tonight, maybe they should bring back, Clifford for one of those. He hasn't been seen in a while. If Kevin can't perform him, I'd definitely recommend that guy who played Hoots on the SS Anniversary Special due to the similarity of both characters' voices.
I saw quite a few of those. Something I wanted to ask about. Did anyone notice Kermit sounding a little different in the one where he and Robin were watching Statler on TV? I mean, I'm not trying to open up a can of worms by asking this. Just curious because I know Matt's Kermit sounded much...
I kind of wish I had known that before. I sort of had to rush home to see the show since I don't have a means of taping it. If I knew I could have seen it online, I may not have needed to hurry. Oh, well. I may glance at that again. I want to see the end credits. Probably a "Kermit the Frog used...
Okay. I was thinking that because a lot movie channels do that. I remember watching The Muppets Take Manhattan uncut sans commercials one time on Thanksgiving so that was most likely played at its full length rather than in a two-hour block or whatever like they did when they aired that show...
You got that prediction right.
Wait! HBO didn't fill the full hour? Was it just a half hour/45 minutes on HBO. Just kind of curious about that.
Sorry for all the double posts. Like a lot of people. I just saw the special today and this is the first I was reading all the posts. I tried...
Don't worry. He'll host the next milestone SS anniversary series.
April fool!
That would be cool if he did though considering he was sort of the host of the show and has been a classic human ever since the days when Matt Robinson played him (or even Garrett Saunders) we should make a petition...
I still think SW could easily recast Murray or at least have him make sporadic appearances with a new performer such as in specials like this. If they can do that with other long lost characters who's performers are no longer around, they certainly could do it with Murray.
Well, it's...
I thought that was Gabi. I may want to check on that again.
Yeah. In most recent eps, he's been getting the name right, but I think he did it in this special as a nod to the old days of the show.
Okay. That was an Elvis? I thought Kermit just got him mixed up with Elvis Presley. Lol.
Okay. Can someone point out exactly where Leela was in this special? I clicked on the photo that was at the top of this thread with all the cast members and I still couldn't find her. I think I need some...
I've finally seen it and I must say I loved it. It was great that they brought back Bob, Gina, Linda, Maria and Luis and all our favorites. (One disappointment was that Leela didn't get her own scene unfortunately. It was sort of hard to spot her in that crowd.) Then of course Whoopi had an...
Hmmmm. Volume 2 of the TimeLIfe set (which I may need to repurchase in DVD form since my VCR recently broke, but that's another story.). Only no TimeLife references there. Interesting.
Okay. Thanks. I knew that had one for when Frank played his characters after Eric took over (and Dave took over as Cookie Monster), but I didn't know that had a similar one for Carroll. So this should be a big help.
So that was Eric? I wondered about that. I was thinking they may have used Carroll's earlier recording until I realized the difference in Oscar's voice especially when Grungetta and the other grouches joined in. But what the heck was up with that guy Jack the Grouch? How was he relevant to the plot?
Yeah. It would have been nice if she could have made a come back, after all we do still see repeat eps with Leela implying that she may still be around. But recall she is supposed to appear in season 50, maybe she'll explain her disappearance along with Susan and Gordon and Bob and all the rest...
