The idea that people here seem to think that because a 15 or 16 year old chose to go on a gay chat line is makes the possibility that he was talking to them okay is ludicrous.
No one's saying it's okay. We're just saying
why the heck are there minors on a sex chat line? In your words, they "chose to go on a gay chat line." Where's the punishment on their end
looking for trouble? Why do they even have one that less than 18 year olds can access?
If you go out in the woods wearing a suit of meat to attract bears and they eat you, you're not a victim. If you fall for a get rich quick scheme that you lose all your money to, it's
still your fault for being dumb enough to fall for it.
I'm not saying it's right, but
every party is at fault here. The "victims" should take just as much responsibility.
And, honestly, it's like like Kevin Clash is really helping the stereotype by befriending minors and having sex with them soon after they reach majority. He's admitted to that, at least. That's creepy even if it isn't illegal.
Yet, if it was a woman doing that with a boy, it would be a high comedy straight out of a movie. Sex is something that makes people do stupid things. But you need someone else to do stupid things with, or else it's something I can't say here.
