I did wind up seeing Lion King and I regret waiting so long. Seeing it in the fourteenth year of its run versus within the first five years made all the difference in the world. You could tell that the actors look at it as purely a job rather than having fun with it, which turned out to be a good thing in terms of pacing; it moved along very briskly, unlike Mary Poppins (there was no reason for Step in Time or Feed the Birds to be included other than they were in the movie and the audience expected them to be in the stage show).
Anyway, Sister Act will be touring all through the USA this year!
