Back on focus, I just saw the clips on Tough Pigs and now understand what this new USO program is about. I'm now intrigued by Katie the military kid-muppet and the fact that this appears to be a costumed show rather than a puppet program. I wonder who lends the vocal performance for the character.
I'm not a fan of the Fox & Friends program or its hosts, but it seems they showed up in good form for this segment even if some of them didn't do their homework before hand. The Muppet Show theme was a little jarring and strange. Spiffy bus!!!

Sorry, Im more offended my Muppets are being used to promote war mongering on FOX NEWS(of all places) than the misplacement of names. Fox News was one of the main networks selling the LIES and total fabrications that got the US into Iraq, and all around has been literally one of the most racist, hate filled and zealously biased networks on television. But this normalization of war using Jim Henson(who was all about peace)'s beloved characters...even after we learn the US military has been using classic Sesame Street songs to torture detainees.

"Supporting the military"...thats fine, but my heart also goes for all the countless innocent Muslims who have died or been horribly wounded/psychologically scarred from these wars too.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who sees this insanity for what it is.

"If anyone wanted to look for evidence that the overall Fox News organization intends to campaign against Obama rather than cover the campaign, this video would be difficult to refute as evidence for that claim," Morrissey wrote.
I have no problem with this, other than Fox is against Obama for the wrong reasons. They hate him for fictitious reasons like every other misinformed conservative. Liberal progressives such as myself take issue with him for real reasons(murdering countless Muslims with bombs and drones, continuing most of Bush-Cheney's Orwellian police state tactics, acting above the law, assassination programs, being in the pocket of wall street, being deeply involved in endless corporate contributions, etc) The only positive thing I can say about Obama is he has seemed supportive of LGBT rights...everything else has been the anathema of what his supporters believe in.

Ah yes. That 1990's Clinton signed FCC deregulation. The same bill that ruined children's TV cartoons that I'm constantly whining about.

I don't feel like posting the SNL TV Funhouse "Mediaopoly" sketch again.
That TV Funhouse "Conspiracy Theory School House Rocks" thing was brilliant. I'd love to see a modern one.

TV Cable news IS a mixed bag. And I will say both Fox and MSNBC have good and bad. Fox has aired a number of documentaries which I felt were really good, and was shocked they even allowed them. They even have shows like Judge Napoliatano which is stuff he'd be banned for speaking during the Bush years. MSNBC has good stuff like Dylan Ratigan and (sometimes) Rachel Maddow. I sometimes like Chris Matthews(his episodes going head on with tea party/birthers was classic) But then MSNBC has so many Obama worshipping fluff pieces, Im reminded how theyre almost the twin of Fox News. They have these "terrorism" experts and other DC thinktank wonks who scare the public with "al Qaeda" and "evil Muslims out to get us" op-ed pieces ala Fox News.

MSNBC has staunchly been for gay rights, has allowed criticism of Israel, allows anti war people like Jeremy Scahill to be commentators, and allows criticism of Obama. I applaud Rachel Maddow for exposing the whole Uganda propaganda.

Otherwise I'd say I'd rather watch RT news or more alternative leftist sites.

Yeah they pretty much are. Bottom line, people enjoy belonging to a group and hating the other side and these cable channels feed on that. For that matter politicians feed on that. Neither party cares about us beyond election year yet we fall for their nonsense every time. Bush used religion to get elected. Obama is using gay rights to get elected. After the election they'll go back to caring only for themselves.

Yeah, but for the sake of the argument, conservatives don't care about things like that. At least the conservative viewpoint Fox has. After all, they were the ones who staunchly supported those wars, EVEN when some conservatives finally wised up about how much money was being wasted over there. True conservatism is closer to Libertarianism in so much as being isolationist. I know people who were conservative complaining about the wars, even when it wasn't popular to do so.

Still, I find this whole secret Muslim socialist crap a pile of hooey. Heck, I wish there was even a grain of truth to that. Then we'd at least see some effort to raise taxes on the war profiteers that egged us on.

Still, that's asking conservatives to find fault with Obama for the very same things their party does that they don't mind or don't realize their party is doing. And in greater numbers.
