I wonder how they obtained all the merchandise Walter had. It looks to me like most of it was more recent merchandise from after Disney bought the Muppets, but I wonder if The Jim Henson Company sent whatever Muppet merchandise it had in its archives to Disney, or if they purchased certain merchandise (via goodwill, flea markets, ebay, and whatever else), if people in the cast and crew loaned their own personal merchandise, or what. But I guess you could ask this about any production featuring lots of real merchandise in the background.
It seems most of the merchandise was newer stuff, from after 2005. But there are some vintage items... I used to have that Kermit watch Walter wears (it broke after a year of owning one), the lunchboxes are old, somebody at tough pigs pointed out Walter had a copy of Muppet Beach Party framed on his wall (and looking at a still image I saw that he also had the GMC soundtrack rerelease framed as well), and I saw a still of the TV which included some Playhouse Video releases in the background.
Still, it's a shame they didn't include any Palisades figures or Boom comics in the background.
