Anyone remember The Adventures Of Grady Greenspace?

This used to equally entertain and terrify me as a kid. Took far too long to figure out what this show was called a couple of years ago. Wish I could buy a DVD of the series.

Anyone remember HR Puffnstuff? Geez that stuff gave me nightmares. Still my fave non henson puppet show by far is Great Space Coaster.

Also I keep forgetting Between the Lions isn't a JHC or Sesame Workshop production

I call it the "magic witch pancake" syndrome...where there's a show you're convinced you actually saw even though noone remembers it. I also remember seeing a lot of odd Canadian puppet shows for some reason in the early 80's

I'm having a problem with a memory like that. It was some sort of tv show I loved to watch. All I remember about it was that there was a guy who played a guitar and I'm pretty sure he had a puppet type thing for a friend. They hung out in an area by a pond I think it was kinda cave like. And there was an episode where the man was blowing bubbles and said they were made of soap. Any ideas Beaker?

I'm going to righhht off what most of you will be familiar with (bar Kiki) and say The Ferals / Feral TV. I watched it as a kid, but now the humour seems so much more relevant. The premise is a bunch of feral animals and their adventures. Being Australian, the show is likely incomprehensible to people that don't have a very good knowledge of Australian slang and the media/current affairs of the 90s in Aus that the latter (Feral TV) satirized, eg. making then media mogul Kerry Packer into the effigy of a toad. The Ferals was a half hour surreal puppet sitcom, daggy 90s style in every way possible, nostalgic and amusing to see now. The puppetry is pretty fantastic and the characterisation is great. The sequel to the series was Feral TV, where the aforementioned gang run a TV station under the watchful eye of a toad. The main difference between the two is the much shorter format of Feral TV and lack of human characters. Search The Ferals into youtube to get a feel for the show if you want. It is non-Henson, although puppeteer Mal Heap (Modigliana the cat) did go on to work with Henson with muppet Ollie, used for cable channel inserts only.

Interestingly the puppet characters were later re-used in other programmes and interstitals/hostings regularly on their broadcast channel, ABC, whilst keeping entirely with the characterisation of Feral exploits.

Xuxa ( pronounced Shooo Shhhaaa. ) This show was super popular till it was pulled because she p[osed nude for playboy. But she's a fameous actress in Brizille Australia and other countries they didn't seem to gave a problun with this. The only non-Henson puppet show that really stuck with me was and is Eureeka's Castle.

We have the Eureeka's Castle Christmas special on a tape, right before MFC and EOJBC. And I, at least, was watched it two or three times every year, right up until my mom made us put all the Christmas tapes in a box, to keep them together, and told us not to touch 'em.

And we had Don't Touch That Box...until it was lost to a football game.

Stupid football.

@rose: interesting selections! I really can't remember too many of those in syndication by the time I was watching tv. I remember seeing HR Puffnstuf on some odd uhf channel and not digging it. Though I was a bit older by the time Eureka's Castle came out to get too into it...however the puppetry is quite Henson like and it seems well done. Eureka's Castle from clips I've seen reminds me a little bit like Mopatop(the 1999/2000 UK Muppet show) Holy goodness, I actually briefly remember Xuxa! Heh. I also remember a lot of late 90's/2000's animal puppet shows akin to Stinky and Jake.

There was so many regional specific(to America, Canada, UK, worldwide) puppet shows from the 60's to the 90's, it'd probably be impossible to list them all or find info on them.
Some are mere fragments in my mind. I remember a Nickeoldeon show that was your typical 90's kid/teen comedy cept it had a black puppet kid. I remember in the mid 80's in the bay area this show called "Buster and Me" with ape puppets. I also remember a few shows like Today's Special or Space Coaster but my memory is failing at the moment. Oh! I do remember Sid and Marty Kroft's DC Follies and the UK version "Spitting Image"

I used to watch Pinwheel all the time; though even as a kid I could tell it was basically a poor man's Sesame Street. It even had very similar puppet characters, lol.

And like others have said, Today's Special. And it's actually even better when I watch it today. Love the dark, moody musical numbers in the department store at night!
