Yeah, I mean, Obama's not perfect, and I am VERY disappointed in most of his overseas policies, but McCain scared me half to death when he was making light jokes about bombing Iran ("Didn't the Beach Boys write a song about that?" HA HA HA! It's all fun and games until the nuclear holocaust) ... and the fact that people were actually AGREEING with him made me jump out of my skin. Heck, a year or so ago, Didn't Beauty pageant bimbo Sarah Palin say that Obama SHOULD attack Iran? Up until the polls saying no one wants to blow more money in the Middle East, that was going to be their special little baby when they won in 2012. The one big thing I can give Obama points for is not going in there... yet.Except with WW1 and WW2, we came in late and tried to be the hero. Everyone was fighting everyone else at that point. Plus, the US got SUPPORT to fight those ones.
But on the other hand, he did something about healthcare (something wimply watered down) when everyone was saying "FIX IT" for decades... and once he did the lies started spewing out from hack Dr. Nick type Doctors and a certain news network that just so happens to be sponsored and paid by the big insurance companies everyone started "thinking" the system was fine by itself. Sigh... I wish they just rammed it through Congress like Bush did with Iraq. Some socialist dictator Obama was, right? I rather liked the part about it being funded by vain airheads being taxed for plastic surgery. And he did have a weak regulation plan for big business that's unfortunately never going to pass. And he didn't win the election scaring people with Gay Islamic Mexicans taking everyone's jobs while they're quietly sent to Vietnamese sweatshops.
Seriously, if you don't believe in lesser evil, at LEAST believe in greater evil.
That's an old conversation I used to bring up. How come it had to be Sesame Street and McD's, which didn't show ANY food, completely obscured Ronald McDonald, and didn't use the 30 seconds to advertise a producet? I've noticed Arthur, for the longest time, had Rhodes Cinnamon rolls commercials showing kids eating them, Lipton's sodium stuffed noodle soups for Clifford... and even years earlier when Franco American did Spaghetti-O's commercials that advertised their product "NOW with as much CALCIUM as a GLASS of MILK!!!" No, McD's is the ONLY company on Earth that's bad. What about Exxon Mobile Masterpiece Theater? No complaints there. It's irritating because Nader used to hold so much value as an advocate for causes people wanted to sweep under the carpet. It's the same with PETA. Everyone's for the ethical treatment of animals, but you start calling fish "kittens of the sea" and you lose all credibility. And with that goes the ability to actually move forward on crucial issues. I guess the problems arise when responsibility to the cause is abandoned for sake of ego.
